七、Teaching procedure:
Step 1. Lead in.
The teacher will have something interesting to share with students. If the teacher enters his name into the search engine, what will happen ? Come to “Think About It!” What can you do on a computer? How do you use the Internet?
Step 2. New lesson.
No. 1 :Teach the new words .make sure the Ss can read it correctly in different way.
No. 2: Let the students watch the video about the text , then answer several questions.
No. 3:Give them some time to read the text together. Correct their pronunciation when necessary. Then answer the following questions:
- What does Danny like to use the Internet to do ?
2.What does Danny like doing ?
3.What does Brian like doing on the Internet ?
No. 4: Teach the new phrases .Let the students read the phrases together. Correct their pronunciation when necessary.
Step 3 .Talking
Divide the class into six groups to discuss the questions:
If I use the Internet, I will …… (How do you use the Internet ?Why ?)
Let the students use the following phrases as much as they can:
Chat with sb. More than. Use …to do sth.
Used to do sth. Send the invitation. Collect information.
Watch a movie. do research. Reads the news.
Call with a friends. Write a blog. Read a blog.
Ask some pairs to show their conversations
Step 4.Writing.
Write a passage about how to use the Internet. Be sure to use the adverbial clause with “if” at least three times in your passage. Tell them not to waste time on boring information and computer games.
Step 5.Summary.
- Sum up the text what we learned, the new words, phrases, and sentences.
- Sum up the grammar.
3.Every coin has two sides. We should make good use of the Internet and stay away from the unhealthy websites.
Step 6. Homework.
Finish the activity book and the practice.
