If you're feeling hungry, what’s the easiest way to satisfy your Hunger? Many of Us will reach for a takeaway menu and order some delicious-but possibly unhealthy -food. And our increasingly hectic lives add to our need to buy ready-made food because we always have no time or energy to cook on our own.
Eating options are endless, and new technology means we can feed our desire at the push of a button. Takeaway delivery apps make ordering food quick and convenient. It's estimated that in the UK alone, people eat three million takeaway meals a day, and the three biggest delivery apps together offer a choice of 100 foods from 60,000 restaurants. Amelia Brophy, head of UK Data Products at YouGov, told the BBC that its research suggests that the frequency of takeaways ordered is expected to increase in the future.
It’s no wonder we are tempted to skip the grocery shopping, bypass the kitchen, and tuck into something that someone else has prepared. But ordering a pizza, a spicy curry or a box of noodles, can come at a price both financially and to our health. Eating too much processed and unhealthy fast food has some effect on obesity and the risk of developing certain diseases. A few years ago, the BBC Good Food Nation Survey found most people eating fast food on average two days per week gradually putting on weight.
Of course, reducing salt, sugar and fat is one way to make takeaway food healthier, as well as offering smaller portion sizes. But the best advice for you is to find a recipe book and try making your own nutritious meals. And if you haven't got time, try ordering a healthier alternative from the menu.
4. What does the underlined word “hectic” in Paragraph 1 probably mean?
A. Abnormal. B. Busy. C. Irregular. D. Social.
5. What has made takeaway foods even more popular nowadays?
A. The various food.
B. Their delicious taste.
C. Their relatively low price.
D. The advanced technology.
6. What can we infer from Paragraph 3?
A. Takeaway foods may do harm to health.
B. Takeaway foods make people light-hearted.
C. Pizza and noodles are the most popular takeaway foods.
D. The UK has the largest number of people ordering takeaway foods.
7. What is the author’s purpose of writing the last paragraph?
A. To give readers some suggestions.
B. To offer readers an alternative menu.
C. To find the reason for ordering takeaway foods.
D. To choose the best way of making nutritious meals.
B 5. D 6. A 7. A

And if you haven't got time, try ordering a healthier alternative from the menu.”(当然,减少盐、糖和脂肪是使外卖食品更健康的一种方法,同时提供更小的份量。
C
The phrase “Keeping up with the Joneses" has been an American saying for decades, likely coming from a picture book, which describes a family in a constant straggle to achieve the social status of their neighbors, the Joneses. While the picture book is long gone, the saying remains and the phenomenon still exists.
The Joneses are everywhere, living a successful and wealthy life. Their skin is beautiful, their body is perfect, and they have much money. They have the good house, pets, smart children and they seem never to struggle. For people, the Joneses take the form of a particular family and they regard the Joneses as a description of perfection.
We tell ourselves constantly if we could become someone just like our neighbors, we would be happy. However, as we compare ourselves with others, we notice the deep pain that these comparisons bring about. Well then, what do we do about the Joneses? We should remind ourselves nobody is perfect and perfection is an illusion. So we should train our brains to question or change the distorted (歪曲的) ways of thinking, and see the big picture.
While the methods above do help us see others more clearly, the methods alone won't solve the problem. Moving away from comparison means turning inward to address our insecurities and inviting more mercy. From there, we can honestly begin to notice what we want for ourselves and work to reach those goals. That, finally, is the road to a peaceful mind.
As we move away from the comparative model of judging worth and stop seeing others, success as a treat, we can even feel glad that the Joneses have meaningful careers. We can hope their marriage is happy, their bank account is full, and that their children are successful. We can hope good things happen to the Joneses.
8. What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?
A. How "the Joneses" live.
B. What your neighbors have.
C. Why "the Joneses" are perfect.
D. How your neighbors affect you.
9. Which is the eventual benefit of giving up comparison?
A. Being grateful to life. B. Understanding others.
C. Gaining peace of mind. D. Being close to perfection.
10. What does the author advise us to do?
A. Follow our neighbors. B. Avoid perfect people.
C. Show our love to other people. D. Treat others with a normal attitude.
11. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A. How Do We Become Perfect?
B. Should We Keep up with the Joneses?
C. How Should We Get on with Neighbors?
D. Does the Phenomenon of Comparison Exist?
B 9. C 10. D 11. B

Scientists have shown a new printing process that can turn just about any piece of paper into a waterproof keyboard that you can fold up and put in your pocket.
The technique uses a special coating that's repellent (排斥的) to liquids and dust, which allows multiple circuit (电路) layers to be printed on top of the paper without any dirt between the layers. On the other side of the paper, standard ink printing can then be used to point out where the buttons are, and what they represent. These layers can be printed in any design you want. What's more, no batteries are required to operate the finished keyboard. It's able to be fully powered from the touch of the operator and the mechanical energy that's produced.
"This is the first time a self-powered paper-based electronic device has been shown," says engineer Ramses Martinez, from Purdue University. When the primed parts of the paper get pressed, they're able to send signals over Bluetooth to another device—a laptop, for example. You've then got a lightweight, foldable keyboard that can be taken anywhere and easily wiped clean when needed.
The technology is great. It's good for the environment because the paper can be simply recycled again. These paper devices are cheap to produce as well - less than $0.25 each, according to the researchers. Potential uses include smart packaging, or where temporary input devices are required.
"I expect this technology to help the user interact with food packaging—checking whether the food is safe to be consumed, or allowing users to sign the package that arrives at home by dragging their fingers over the box to properly identify themselves as the owner of the package," says Martinez. "Additionally, our group showed that simple paper sheets from a notebook can be transformed into music player interfaces (界面) for users to choose songs and play them."
12. What can we learn about the keyboard according to the text?
A. It consists of several layers of paper.
B. It's printed on both sides of the paper.
C. It's smaller than an ordinary keyboard.
D. It has its buttons hidden behind the layers.
13. How is the keyboard connected to other devices?
A. By giving signals via Bluetooth.
B. By being attached to other devices.
C. By getting any part of the paper pressed.
D. By using the power produced by other devices.
14. Which words best describe the keyboard?
A. Portable and beautiful.
B. Convenient and fashionable.
C. Eco-friendly and economical.
D. High-powered and permanent.
15. What do Martinez's words in the last paragraph imply?
A. The technology makes food packaging easy.
B. The technology has been used in food industry.
C The technology can be employed in more fields.
D. The technology will improve the quality of food.
B 13. A 14. C 15. C

根据第二段中“The technique uses a special coating that's repellent (排斥的) to liquids and dust, which allows multiple circuit(电路) layers to be printed on top of the paper without any dirt between the layers. On the other side of the paper, standard ink printing can then be used to point out where the buttons are, and what they represent.(该技术使用了一种特殊的涂层,可以防止液体和灰尘,这样可以在纸的顶部印刷多个电路层,而层与层之间没有任何污垢。在纸的另一边,标准的油墨印刷可以用来指出按钮在哪里,以及它们代表什么。)”可知,纸张的一面印刷电路层,另一面印刷按键,所以是两面都印刷。故选B项。
【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段中“When the primed parts of the paper get pressed, they're able to send signals over Bluetooth to another device—a laptop, for example. You've then got a lightweight, foldable keyboard that can be taken anywhere and easily wiped clean when needed. (当纸张的初始部分被压紧时,它们能够通过蓝牙向另一个设备发送信号,比如笔记本电脑。这样你就有了一个轻便的可折叠键盘,可以带到任何地方,需要时也很容易擦干净。)”可知,键盘是通过蓝牙发出信号与其他设备连接。故选A项。
根据第四段中“It's good for the environment because the paper can be simply recycled again. These paper devices are cheap to produce as well—less than $0.25 each, according to the researchers.(它对环境有好处,因为纸张可以简单地再循环利用。研究人员称,这些造纸设备的生产成本也很低——每个不到0.25美元。)”可知,键盘经济又环保。故选C项。
【15题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段Martinez说的话“I expect this technology to help the user interact with food packaging—checking whether the food is safe to be consumed, or allowing users to sign the package that arrives at home by dragging their fingers over the box to properly identify themselves as the owner of the package(我希望这项技术能够帮助用户与食品包装进行互动,检查食品是否可以安全食用,或者允许用户通过在盒子上拖动手指来正确地表明自己是包装的主人,从而在到达家里的包装上签名)”及“Additionally, our group showed that simple paper sheets from a notebook can be transformed into music player interfaces(界面) for users to choose songs and play them.(此外,我们的研究小组还发现,笔记本上简单的纸张可以转换成音乐播放器界面,供用户选择歌曲并播放。)”
