二、文化背景知识

    《安徒生童话》是丹麦作家安徒生的童话作品，也是世界上最有名的童话作品集之一。   安徒生是丹麦19世纪著名童话作家，世界文学童话创始人。他生于欧登塞城一个贫苦鞋匠家庭，早年在慈善学校读过书，当过学徒工。受父亲和民间口头文学影响，他自幼酷爱文学。

他最著名的童话故事有《海的女儿》、《小锡兵》、《冰雪女王》、《拇指姑娘》、《卖火柴的小女孩》、《丑小鸭》和《红鞋》等。尽管创作体裁属于童话，但是其中蕴含了丰富的人生哲理。

【知识点探究】

1.gold n. 金子；金币 adj. 金色的 (教材P45 1a)

① gold 作不可数名词，意为“金子；金币”。

The craftsman turned gold into rings.

I will offer you 250 pieces of gold!

② gold 还可作形容词，意为“金色的”，相当于 golden。其区别为 gold 只用于名词前作定语，golden 既可作定语，还可作表语。

He is wearing a gold/golden jacket today.

Leaves turn golden in autumn.

2. cheat /tʃiːt/ v.欺骗；蒙骗;n.骗子 (教材P45 1a)

① cheat当及物动词讲, 意为 “欺骗; 蒙骗”, 常用短语:   

    cheat sb. of sth.  骗取某人某物;

    cheat sb. into doing sth.  欺骗某人做某事。

They cheated the old woman of her house and money.

    He cheated people into giving him much money.

② cheat当不及物动词讲，意为“作弊”；

  It's wrong to cheat in the exam.考试作弊是不对的。

③ cheat当名词讲时意为“骗子”。

She is a cheat.  她是个骗子。

3.Nobody wanted to sound stupid.  (教材P45 1c)

① nobody 在此处作不定代词，意为“没有人”，相当于 no one，作主语时谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。

Nobody knows what will happen.

② nobody 还可作名词，表示“小人物”，指无足轻重的人。

We shouldn’t look down on anybody, even if he is a nobody.

4.but they kept everything for themselves.  (教材P45 1c)

keep everything for oneself “把一切据为己有 ”

① keep sth. for sb.   为某人保留某样东西

 I will keep this bag for you.我会为你保留这个包。

② keep sth. to oneself   保守秘密。
