Language point (1) I don’t know how to increase my reading speed.how to increase my reading speed 特殊疑问词+动词不定式,做know的宾语拓展:该结构中的疑问词,可以是疑问代词 (what , which, who)或疑问副词( when, how, where等)。这种结构在句子中不能作谓语,但可作主语、宾语、表语等。例如:Language point拓展:例如:He didn't know which dictionary to buy. (作动词宾语)My teacher gives me some advice on how to learn English. (作介词宾语)Where to go is not decided yet.(作主语)The question is when to start.(作表语) Language point (2) I often make mistakes in grammar.mistake 可数名词, 意为“错误,过失”,常用于短语 make a mistake/ make mistakesmistake 动词,意为“误解,弄错”;短语:mistake...for...在句中,in 指 “在某一方面”,例如:The students had trouble in climbing the hill.学生们爬山时遇到一些困难。Language point (3) He can’t get the pronunciation right.get...right 意为“使...正确,纠正”,get是使役动词,right是形容词,作宾语补足语。“get+宾语+宾语补足语”表示“使某人/某物处于某种状态或位置”e.g.The work gets everyone happy.这项工作使大家都很开心。Language point (4) It is also easier for you to pay attention to it for a long time. It is adj. for sb. to do sth.若形容词表示事物特征的,如:easy, difficult, hard, important等,须用介词for。It’s +adj. (kind, honest, friendly) + (of sb.) to do sth. 若形容词表示人的性格、品质与特点,如:good, kind, nice, wrong等,用介词of。e.g. It’s very kind of you to help me with my English.Language point (5) Even if you learn something well, you will forget it unless you use it. even if=even though,意为“即使/虽然”,引导让步状语从句, 不能与but连用。e.g. Even if it’s hard work, I enjoy it. =Even though it’s hard work, I enjoy it. He will come on time even if it rains.Language point (6) But whether or not you can do this well depends on your learning habits. 1) whether or not 引导名词性从句,表达不确定的内容。句中whether不能换成if, 因为if在表示“是否”时,不能与or not连用。e.g. Whether or not we can hold a sport meeting tomorrow will depend on the weather.Language point (6) But whether or not you can do this well depends on your learning habits. 2) depend on, 意为“依靠,取决于”,等同于depend upone.g. ---How can I become a successful learner? ---It depends on how hard you work.Exercise 1根据句意,从方框中选择恰当的单词填空,有的需要变换形式.1.
