    T learn the wrds: square,meter, deep,desert,the Yangtze River,the Nile,Qmqlangma,the Sahara,the Caspian Sea.
    T learn hw t read big numbers.
    T learn Superlative Frms f Adjectives.
    II、Learning Capability:
    Develp students’ listening and speaking skills.
    Be able t talk abut gegraphy and nature.
    III、Cultural Character:
    Imprve students’ ability t appreciate natural beauty.
    Lead students t prtect the beautiful scenery and lve the wrld.
    IV、Thinking Quality:
    T lve the nature by watching vides and discussing.
    Teaching Key and Difficult pints:
    Reading f big numbers.
    Superlative Frms f Adjectives.
    Teaching Aids:
    an English bk, a tape recrder and multimedia player PPT.
    Teaching Prcedures:
    StepI:Leading in
    Play a vide. It includes the beauty f the Yangtze River, water pllutin and Ge Yu aplgizes t water pllutin.
    (Design intent: Lead the students enjy natural wnder and understand the seriusness f envirnmental pllutin.)
    Step II:New wrds
    Say: Please tell me the name f the river in the vide. Lead the students t answer: the Yangtze River . It’s the largest river in China. Shw a picture abut it. And ask: Which river is the lngest in the wrld? Lead the students t answer: the Nile. Shw a picture abut it. The wrds are elicited in the same way: Qmlangma, the Sahara, the Caspian Sea,square,desert,deep,meter. Explain the new wrds. Let the students read.
    (Design intent: Learn the new wrds and cultivate students’ appreciatin f beauty.)
    Step III:Reading
    Activity 1a.
    Match the facts yu knw.
    Shw a picture abut big numbers.
    Ask the students t read it by themselves.
    (Design intent: Lead the students t learn hw t read big numbers.)
    Step IV:Listening
    Activity 1b.
    Lk at 1b. Play the tape and ask the students t listen and cmplete the sentences.
    Check the answers.
    Read the cnversatin.
    (Design intent: Develp students’ listening and reading skills.)
    Step V:Cnversatins
    Activity 1c.
    Fcus n the cnversatin in the bx.
    Shw a picture. Ask the students use the infrmatin in the picture t make cnversatins in pairs.
    Ask sme pairs t act them ut.
    (Design intent:Develp students’ speaking skills.)
    Step VI:Watching
    Shw five pictures. Describe in detail the pictures f the Yangtze River,the Nile,Qmlangma,
    the Sahara,the Caspian Sea.
    (Design Intent: Expand students’ knwledge and inspire students’ interest.)
    StepVII: Superlative
    Shw sme pictures abut Superlative Frms f Adjectives.
    Explain the grammar.
    (Design intent: Master Superlative Frms f Adjectives.)
    StepVIII : Exercises
    Translate five sentences.
    1.玛丽是三个人中最年轻的。
    2.黄河是中国的第二长河。
    3.他是中国最有名的作家之一。
    4.世界上最高的人是谁?
    5.尼罗河、亚马逊河和长江,哪一个最长?
