By cntrast, men experience n such negative effects.
A mre recent study designed and executed by researchers at Harvard University, Bstn University, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute fund that wmen wearing mre makeup were judged t be mre cmpetent than thse wearing less makeup r n makeup. Makeup was fund t increase peple's perceptins f a wman's likability and trustwrthiness as well.
Despite these research implicatins, many are reluctant t admit that a wman's persnal appearance influences decisins arund hiring and prmtin, accrding t Steve Strum, president f Venmark Internatinal. Strum explains a key reasn fr this is that persnal appearance falls int the subliminal (下意识的)judgment part f the brain. He cmpares the situatin t the autmtive industry placing bright red cnvertibles (敞篷车)in their shwrms, nly t sell white cars. "In the same sense, a wman's persnal appearance is a hidden persuader, says Strum. "Nbdy will admit that smething as trivial will impact their decisin-making prcess... but it des.”
Marc L. Resnick, Ph.D., prfessr f human factrs at Bentley University Cllege f Business, reinfrces this psitin. "My research finds that when making decisins, peple are influenced by a variety f factrs that are explicitly cnscius and uncnscius," says Resnick. "S even fr a hiring manager that knws f this tendency and frces him/herself t suppress it, it is still an influence."

Nbdy ever said science educatin was easy. Certainly the cncepts like quantum mechanics can be hard t grasp. But what really cmplicates the endeavr is that we're als trying t teach the subject while helping students understand the nature f science itself.
All t ften, yung peple get the impressin that science is abut learning certain "laws" and then applying them t different situatins. Rather, science is the prcess f building the cncepts thrugh the cllectin f experimental evidence. Let's nt call these cncepts laws, but mdels. Science is all abut building and testing mdels.
Of curse, we can't start frm scratch. If students had t build their wn mdels frm the grund up, it wuld be like trying t learn prgramming by inventing cmputers. As Isaac Newtn said, we stand n the shulders f giants. We must g frm mdels built by thers.
But there's still anther challenge in science educatin less recgnized: Students ften enter a curse with their wn unarticulated ideas abut hw the wrld wrks. We call these "miscnceptins" but it's imprtant t realize that these are als mdels, based n their life experiences, which "make sense" t the students.
What I'd like t suggest is that this actually prvides a great way int the adventure f science and an pprtunity t meet ur bjectives as educatrs. If yu can create a situatin that challenges students' assumptins and prduces cnceptual cnflict, that's a great pprtunity fr learning.
Here's an example that I've used n the tpic f light rays. I set up a pint light surce and put a piece f cardbard in frnt f it. There's a small pinhle in the cardbard and a white screen behind. What d yu expect t see? N surprise: A light shining thrugh a pinhle makes a dt n the screen. But what if I have TWO light surces with the same single hle? Many students cmplain that science is tricky.
OK, that is a prblem. The pint isn't suppsed t be that science is tricky but that learning is tricky. It's hard t change students' ideas, s we deliberately put them in a psitin t cnfrnt their internal mdel. Here, students have the idea that the spt n the screen is due t the pinhle - a natural cnclusin - s ne hle means ne spt. But actually light travels radially utward frm each light surce in straight lines. (Check the tp view (俯视图)f the tw lights, the pinhle, and the screen belw.)
But really, the answer is nt the pint. What I'm saying here is that in educatin, we set things up s students get it wrng. That's hw they learn. Learning requires getting past their wn ideas. Yu can't get physically fit withut breaking a sweat and yu can't really learn, at a fundamental level, withut a little cnflict in yur head. (477 wrds)

    B. Learning science is all abut putting thery t practice.
    C. Life experiences cntribute t students' knwledge f the wrld.
    D. Students' wn idea f hw things wrk isn't eligible fr a mdel.
    65. The tp view mentined in the writer's experiment is.
    A. B.
    C. D.

    A. Get the cncepts and laws acrss t the students clearly.
    B. Help students t distinctively tell laws and mdels apart.

    A diet t save humankind
When I was a child my family wuld always sit dwn tgether fr meals. My favurite was amng the simplest: pasta in tmat sauce. We ate fresh vegetables and fruit, and, starting in ur teenage years, sipped a glass f red wine. We ate tgether. I indulged with a few slices f prsciutt and practised a wide variety f utdr sprts. This centuries-ld Mediterranean diet kept me fit and trim - and turned ut t be gd nt just fr my persnal well-being, but fr the planet's health t.
In 2021 we will celebrate the tenth anniversary f UNESCO's designatin f this Mediterranean diet as a “Cultural Heritage f Humanity” ____67____ We have started t eat mre fast fd and have increased ur prtins. Fewer Italians enjy scial meals with family and friends. Italian children were amng the mst verweight in a recent study f 30 cuntries.
Pr nutritin is a glbal prblem, nt just an Italian ne. The fact that it's hitting Italy, the land where the Mediterranean diet riginated, represents a dangerus paradx — ne f many afflicting the wrld f fd. After years f decline, hunger is back n the rise. Glbally, sme 821m peple still d nt have enugh t eat. Yet while the pr suth starves, the rich nrth grges: sme 2bn peple are verweight r bese. We waste ne-third f glbal fd prductin. ____68____
____69____ The wrld's ppulatin is expected t increase by 2.3bn peple by 2050, fuelling demand fr meat. Since the end f the secnd wrld war the glbal fd system has fcused n prducing mre fd fr mre peple — but then wastes huge amunts f it. A paradigm shift is needed. Prductin must cncentrate n delivering better, mre nutritius fd. The UN's Sustainable Develpment Gals can shw us the way. They aim t “end hunger, achieve fd security and imprved nutritin and prmte sustainable agriculture”. These gals are ambitius but achievable.
Gvernments must prvide incentives t supprt sustainable agriculture, slash fd waste and meet nutritinal challenges. This des nt just mean taxing unhealthy fds. ____70____ Cmpanies must nt be shrt-sighted, either. They shuld supprt legislatin requiring them t embrace sustainability.
We must change ur diet A fd and envirnment pyramid which highlights the clse links between fd's nutritinal value and envirnmental impact has been devised.
