Step 1 Warm-up activities
1.Read the cnversatin between Eddie and Hb. Allw Ss enugh time t make sense f the cmic strip: heavy rain—Hb is wet and cld.—His huse is wet. Try t elicit frm Ss what might happened t Hb’s huse.
2.Ask sme pen questins abut each picture.
What’s the weather like?
What happened t Hb?
What d yu think happened Hb’s huse?
Hw des he fell at Eddie’s hme?
Why desn’t he want t g hme alne?
Will Eddie help him?
Ask tw mre able students t rle-play the cnversatin.
3.Elicit frm Ss ther bad weather cnditins.
Step 2 Presentatin
1.Prepare Part A by prviding mre vcabulary t help Ss understand headlines in English.
2.Ask students t cnsider whether the disasters are natural and tick the apprpriate bxes. Ss can d it individually and then cmpare their answers with a partner.
3.Check the crrect answers with the whle class and elicit a definitin fr a natural disaster.
4.Read the wrds in Part B and ask mre able students t describe each weather cnditin nly with simple phrases and wrds.
5.Ask Ss t cmplete the task n their wn and check the crrect answers with the class as a whle.
