    Step 1. Leading in
    Shw the students sme pictures abut hw t plant a seed, which we have learned
    at the beginning f this unit. Then ask them t talk abut the basic steps abut it.
    Designing purpse: Aruse the students’ interest and curisity abut the tpic f
    plants by shwing them the pictures, and it can be smthly shifted t the new tpic --- hw des the plant grw?
    Shw the title: Lessn 12. Danny’s plant
    Shw the teaching aims.
    Step 2. New vcabulary
    Shw the students new wrds with the help f sme pictures and sme real flwers in the pts. S that the students can understand the meaning f new wrds quickly.
    Designing purpse: New vcabulary can help the students understand the passage better and describe hw des the plant grw smthly.
    Step 3. Listening
    Listen t the three paragraphs and fill in the blanks.

    Designing purpse: This part is aimed at develping students’ ability t catch the key infrmatin while listening, and understanding the main idea f Danny’s diary.
    Step 4. Reading
    Befre reading the fllwing part f this passage, I will shw the students a small vide, which is abut the prcess f the plant’s grwth. With the help f the vide, students can understand it intuitively.
    Read the fllwing part f this passage quickly and find the answers t these questins.

    Read the whle passage carefully and put the steps f plant’s grwing in the crrect rder.
    Designing purpse: In rder t train students’ reading skills and make them learn abut the main cntents f this passage, I designed this part.
    Step 5. Grup wrk
    Each grup draws a mind map abut the prcess f plant’s grwth accrding t Danny’s diary.

    Ask sme students t describe hw des the plant grw with the help f their mind map.
    Designing purpse: The best way t learn English is t use it. Students are encuraged t shw themselves in frnt f the class. They can master what they have learned. At the same time they can vercme their shyness. T make the class mre lively and interesting.

    Tday we have read Danny’s diary and knwn hw des the plant grw. Let’s finish ur mind map tgether.

    In this lessn I mainly used the fllwing teaching methds: Task-based teaching
    methd and situatinal teaching methd. In every step I try my best t create
    different situatins t make students practice mre. Students can participate in the
    Activities with high passin, I think such class is lively and interesting. S that the
    students can develp their skills f reading, speaking and listening.
