EP Portable Heater
We all know that the cost of heating our homes will continue to be a significant burden on the family budget. Now millions of people are saving on their heating bills with the EP Portable Heater. With over one million satisfied customers around the world, the new EP heats better and faster, saves more on heating bills, and runs almost silent.
The EP has no exposed heating parts that can cause a fire. The outside of EP only gets warm to the touch so that it will not burn children or pets.
The EP will not reduce oxygen in the room. With other heaters, you’ll notice that you get sleepy when the heat comes on because they are burning up oxygen.
The advanced EP also heats the room evenly, wall to wall and floor to ceiling. It comfortably covers an area up to 350 square feet. Other heaters heat rooms unevenly with most of the heat concentrated to the center of the room. And they only heat an area a few feet around the heater. With the EP, the temperature will not vary in any part of the room.
The EP comes with a 3-year warranty (保修) and a 60-day no questions asked, satisfaction guarantee. If you are not totally satisfied, return it at our expense and your money will be given back to you.
Now, we have a special offer for 10 days, during which you can enjoy a half price discount and a free delivery. If you order after that, we reserve the right to either accept or reject order requests at the discounted price.
Take action right now!

You are given many opportunities in life to choose to be a victim (受害者) or a creator. When you choose to be a victim, the world is a cold and difficult place. “They” did things to you which caused all of your pain and suffering. “They” are wrong and bad, and life is terrible as long as “they” are around. Or you may blame yourself for all your problems, thus internalizing (内化) your victimization. The truth is, your life is likely to stay that way as long as you feel a need to blame yourself or others.
Those who choose to be creators look at life quite differently. They know there are individuals who might like to control their lives, but they don't let this get in the way. They know they have their weaknesses, yet they don’t blame themselves when they fail. Whatever happens, they have choices in the matter. They believe their dance with each sacred moment of life is a gift and that storms are a natural part of life which can bring the rain needed for emotional and spiritual growth.
Victims and creators live in the same physical world and deal with many of the same physical realities, yet their experience of life is worlds apart. Victims relish (沉溺) in anger, guilt, and other emotions that cause others---and even themselves---to feel like victims, too. Creators consciously choose love, inspiration, and other qualities which inspire not only themselves, but all around them. Both victims and creators always have the choice to determine the direction of their lives.
In reality, all of us play the victim or the creator at various points in our lives. One person, on losing a job or a special relationship, may feel as if it is the end of the world and sink into terrible suffering for months, years, or even a lifetime. Another with the same experience may choose to first experience the grief, then accept the loss and soon move on to be a powerful creative force in his life.
In every moment and every situation, you can choose to have a fuller, richer life by setting a clear intention to transform the victim within, and by inviting into your life the powerful creator that you are.
24. According to Paragraph 2, creators ________.
A. handle ups and downs of life wisely
B. possess the ability to predict future life
C. seem willing to experience failure in life
D. have the potential to create something new
25. The examples mentioned in Paragraph 4 show that ________.
A. people may become victims if they care too much about sufferings
B. people need family support to deal with challenges in life
C. it takes creators quite a long time to get rid of their pains
D. one’s experiences determine his attitude towards life
26. What is the author’s purpose in writing this passage?
A. To define victims and creators.
B. To evaluate victims against creators.
C. To explain the relationship between victims and creators.
D. To suggest the transformation from victims to creators.
C
When it comes to work, workers, and jobs, much of the concern of the modern age boils down to the fear that we’re witnessing the final stage of the game, and that there will be nowhere for humans to withdraw (撤退) as machines take over the last few tasks. The most recent example comes from the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Is there no area of human experience that can’t be replaced by AI? And if not, what is left for humans to do except the tasks involved in taking care of the machines?
At the heart of this concern is our desire for good jobs — jobs that make the most of workers’ natural abilities and where the work provides the worker with motivation and work-life balance. More importantly, good jobs support workers in learning by doing — and, in so doing, deliver benefits on three levels: to the worker, who gains in personal development and job satisfaction; to the organization, which improves as employees find new problems to solve and opportunities to pursue; and to the community as a whole, which harvests the economic benefits of hosting positive organizations and workers. This is what makes good jobs productive for the organization, as well as engaging and fulfilling for the worker.
Does the ongoing advance of AI threaten to get rid of all the learning, creativity, and meaning that make a job a good job? Certainly, some have blamed technology for just such a result. Headlines today often express concern over technological innovation (革新) resulting in bad jobs for humans, or even the complete disappearance of certain professions. Some fear that further technology advancement in the workplace will result in jobs where employees are being asked to work in split times or for longer periods over more days.
The problem here isn’t the technology; rather, it’s the way the technology is used — and, more than that, the way people think about using it.
27. What is the passage mainly about?
A. How to take care of the AI machines.
B. The relations among work, workers, and jobs.
C. The human’s fears in the age of AI.
D. Human experiences were replaced by AI.
28. What jobs are supposed to be good according to the passage?
A. Those that mainly have the economic benefits.
B. The ones that offer chances to progress professionally.
C. Those that make full use of workers’ motivation.
D. The ones that don’t bring new problems to workers.
29. How do news media respond to the development of AI?
A. Negative. B. Supportive.
C. Objective. D. Indifferent.
30. What will the author probably talk about next?
A. The future jobs humans will do.
B. The possible application of AI in the future.
C. The ways that humans do jobs.
D. The proper attitude towards AI.

Peter, a 5-year-old boy, showed such great interest in sea shells that he would rush to pick them up with his 3-year-old sister, Shirley. They screamed out their joy as Peter collected his treasure into his pockets. For Peter, sea shells lay shinning on the peaceful beach, waiting for him, just like stars twinkling (闪烁) in the sky. As waves touched them, they seemed to be flowers blooming (绽放)in gentle wind.
One day, Peter was wandering through market with Shirley, with some shells in his pocket. Suddenly Peter found his younger sister was lagging (落后) behind. He stopped and looked back, finding Shirley was standing in front of a toy shop and was staring at something with great interest.
The boy went back to her and asked, “What do you want?” Shirley pointed at the doll, wearing a smile on her innocent face. Peter held his younger sister’s tiny hand, walking into the shop. He tiptoed (踮起脚尖) to reach for the doll, and like a responsible elder brother, gave the precious doll to Shirley. Holding tightly the doll, the sister was very very happy.
The shopkeeper was watching everything and getting amused to see the matured (成熟的) behavior of the boy. Now the boy came to the counter and asked the shopkeeper, “How much does this doll cost, Sir?”
The shopkeeper was a cool man, who had suffered from something in his life. So he asked the boy with love and affection, “Well, what can you pay?” Peter reached into his clothes for money that was intended for these two little guys’ breakfast. Having counted the money, Peter put it carefully on the counter, asking again, “Sir, is it enough for my little sister’s doll?”
The amusing scene just in front of the shopkeeper eventually brought a smile on his face. Shaking his head slightly, he replied, “My boy, I am afraid it seems not to be enough.”

【66题答案】
【答案】Good morning everyone!
My name is Li Hua and it gives me a great pleasure to welcome our guests from our U.K. sister school. It’s exciting to meet so many new friends.
As this is a cultural exchange program, I’d like to talk briefly about Chinese traditional culture, especially Chinese painting. Chinese painting is an enduring art form with a two-thousand-year history. Compared to Western oil painting, it’s usually done on rice paper or thin silk, using various brushes and black ink or colored pigments. We’re planning several visits to our city’s art galleries and then you can see for yourself.
I hope you’ll enjoy the activities we have organized.
Thank you.

【答案】参考范文一
Para 1:
With his eyes fixed on Peter’s pocket, he wondered what Peter would do. Watching Shirley’s Smile fading away, Peter frowned. After a while, he seemed to make up his mind. He took out all the shells from his pocket, giving them to the shopkeeper, who took them and started to count as if he had been counting the money. Then he looked at Peter. Peter asked him, “Is it enough now? “ The shopkeeper replied, “These are more than the cost.” Saying so, he kept only two shells and returned the remaining and the money. Peter put those shells back into his pocket very happily, leaving with Shirley holding the doll tightly.
Para 2:
Seeing Peter leaving happily with his sister holding the doll tightly, an assistant in that shop got surprised. He asked the shopkeeper, “Sir! You only charge them for 2 shells? !” The shopkeeper said with a smile, “For us these are shells, but for the boy they are treasures. His love for his sister is the most precious.” Watching the lovely kids until they were out of sight, he continued, “When he grows up, he will remember he purchased a doll for his sister with the shells from a shopkeeper. He will cherish love and warmth in life--cherish every little shining sea shell in his heart.”
参考范文二
Para 1:
With his eyes fixed on Peter’s pocket, he wondered what Peter would do. Hesitantly taking out the treasured sea shells in his pockets, Peter asked in a low voice, “Sir, can these help cover the cost?” Watching the 5-year- old carefully lay down all his shining shells on the counter, the man was somewhat touched, but he just pretended to be counting the shells seriously, “Let me see, one, two…Ok. The shells are just enough. You can take the doll and save the money”. Hearing this, Peter felt truly amazed and thanked the shopkeeper, who actually wanted to thank the two little kids, especially when he saw a big smile quickly spread over the little girl’s innocent face. They said goodbye and left happily with the doll.
Para 2:
Seeing Peter leaving happily with his sister holding the doll tightly, an assistant in that shop got surprised. Since his boss had been in such a low mood recently that he seldom wore any smile and talked much. When the shopkeeper turned around and noticed the assistant’s surprised look, he said smilingly, “lovely kids, aren’t they? When I see the little boy is willing to take all he has to buy a doll for his lovely sister, it really warms my heart.” The assistant replied thoughtfully, “When he grows up, he will remember he purchased a doll for his sister with the shells from a shopkeeper, which will surely warm his heart, too.”
