Anyne watching the Winter Olympics in Beijing, China ver the last few days will have seen lts and lts f snw ----– man-made snw. Since the area gets little natural snw, this is the first time the Winter Olympics is taking place n almst 100% artificial snw.
This year’s Winter Olympics are being held in Beijing, China, and in tw areas nrthwest f Beijing, Yangqing and Zhangjiaku. The areas get cld in the winter, but they dn’t get a lt f snw. That’s because they’re nt far frm the Gbi Desert, and are generally very dry.
That meant sme serius changes were needed t hld the Winter Olympics there. China tk water frm a reservir which helps supply Beijing’s drinking water and sent it t a nearby river. T carry the water t the muntains fr making snw, the cuntry ran miles and miles f pipes. China says making the snw tk abut 49,000 gallns (185,500 liters) f water. Outside experts say it prbably tk a lt mre water than that.
China hired an Italian cmpany called TechnAlpin t create the snw. TechnAlpin created artificial snw at several earlier Winter Olympics. Fr the snw in this year’s Olympics, TechnAlpin laid ver 40 miles (64 kilmeters) f pipe and brught in hundreds f snw-making machines. Even with all f thse machines, making the snw fr this year’s Games tk seven weeks.
It’s useful t be able t make snw when nature desn’t prvide enugh. But artificial snw isn’t the same as natural snw, which has mre air and less water. An athlete used t natural snw might have t adjust their style n man-made snw.Still, the machines that make artificial snw are quite advanced. They can make several different kinds f snw depending n what’s needed fr each sprt. Fr example, the snw they make fr dwnhill skiing is different frm the snw made fr crss-cuntry skiing.
A few athletes have cmplained abut the snw at this year’s Olympics. Mst thers say it’s been just fine.
In recent years, it has becme mre and mre cmmn t use artificial snw at winter sprts events. That’s true even in places that used t have a lt f snw naturally. Sme artificial snw was used in the Winter Olympics in 2010 and 2014 because f warm weather. In the 2018 Games in PyengChang, Suth Krea, rughly 90% f the snw was man-made.
As the wrld warms because f climate change, prblems like this are expected t becme far mre cmmn. Michael Mayr, wh leads TechnAlpin in Asia, says, “Yu culd nt have winter sprts nw withut man-made snw.”
28.Why des the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics use artificial snw?

C.the lack f snw making cmpany D.TechnAlpin’s rich experience
31.What des the authr mainly want t tell us in the last paragraph?
    A.The reasns f climate change.B.Sme examples f warm weather.

    21-23 CDA 24-27 BADA 28-31 CBDC 32-35 DADA
41-45CAACD; 46-50.DBABC; 51-55.DBACC
故选A。
故选A。
where哪里; what什么; hw怎样,如何; when什么时候,……
故选A。
see eating as smething意为“把吃饭视作……
根据"fresh fruits, vegetables, and eggs as well as high-quality meats fr each meal"可知,这里指的是他们有新鲜的食物可供选择。have a chice f意为“可以选择”,符合语境。C选项意义上也说得通,但应为have an rder f(订购,选购,购买),原文冠词为a,所以应排除。故选A。
同时本句中的“recent(近期的,近来的)”也起到提示作用,可帮助排除traditins(传统)。故选C。
    56.wh 57. n 58. really 59.. entered 60. energetic
