We all know that people are having much more stress than before. Luckily, a new study has found an easy way to do with the problem. According to the researchers from the University of Hyogo in Japan, small green plants on the desk can greatly reduce (减少) people's stress.
More than 60 people from different jobs took part in the study. Half of them worked as usual without any plants, and the other half worked with plants on their desks. Then researchers used a standard test (标准测试) to find out their stress levels. More than 90% of office workers showed lower stress level after taking a three-minute rest to look at their plant.
The study has also found that it does not matter whether people were directly looking at their plant or only putting the plant near their computer. When people could see a green plant in their working place, their stress level changed greatly. What is more, researchers found it worked for everyone no matter how old they were and what their job was.

It’s not often that two problems add up to one solution (解决方案), but Mr. Than Tun Win has made it happen. His programme LessWalk takes the problem of wasted shared bikes and turns them into an easy way for students in Myanmar (缅甸) to travel a long way to school.
In the last few years, companies like oBike and Ofo began flooding (挤满) streets in places like China, Japan and Singapore with bikes. But it didn't take long before there were too many bikes. Some companies went out of business, leaving behind thousands of new shared bikes.
Mr. Than Tun Win realized that these bikes could do good for students in Myanmar: some of them travel an hour or more on foot every day to school, “If they spent less time on the way, they could have more time studying and have better chance of finding good jobs,” he said.
Soon Mr. Than Tun Win raised around $400,000 and bought shared bikes and shipped them to Myanmar. It wasn't easy—there was much paperwork in moving the bikes from one country to another.
Once in Myanmar, the bikes are changed to make them more useful for students. They added a second place in the back of the bikes, allowing two children to ride, and changed the bike's tyres (轮胎) with solid (实心的) ones.
Though LessWalk began in March 2019, the programme has brought 22,500 bikes into Myanmar and given out over 7,200 bikes that year. Mr. Than Tun Win hopes to bring in 100,000 bikes and expand (扩展) the programme to Laos and Cambodia (老挝和柬埔寨).

Bing Dwen Dwen, a panda in an ice shell (壳), was chosen as the mascot (吉祥物) for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in 2019. Now it has been made into fluffy (毛绒绒的) toys and plastic models, as well as printed on notebooks, badges (徽章) and bags.

The environment on the earth is becoming worse and worse. The earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves and for our later generations.
Everyone can do something for our environment. In the past, I did some small things to protect the environment. For example, I ran to school instead of taking a bus every morning, and it made me feel healthier. In order to protect the forest, I tried to use both sides of paper whenever it was possible. I did not use things like paper cups or disposable chopsticks because they were made of wood. If I was the last to leave the classroom, I remembered to turn off the lights to save the electricity in my daily life.
I believe that doing all these small things will improve our environment and help make our earth more beautiful.
