His son wasn't able to communicate, but he seemed content sitting in the sand. The dad explained to me that his son could only make some sounds. The boy had been in speech therapy(言语治疗)for years. After so much time in therapy, the boy was able to maintain eye contact for a few seconds and the father was delighted by the achievement! He told me how expensive the therapies for his son’s specific needs were and what a pleasure it was to see all of the years of hard work paid off. The father and son connected, and those few seconds of eye contact meant the world to that dad! As we talked about therapy, the dad shared with me that his goal for his boy was to someday be able to go for ice cream together. He said his father used to take him out for ice cream and he hoped he could do the same with his child. Suddenly, the son stopped putting his fingers in the sand, looked at his father and said, “Hi.” Seconds later the boy went back into his own world. The dad wanted to say something, but he couldn't. His love for this boy was so great that the words would not come. But what did come were tears. Those tears conveyed(传达) how proud he was of his son. A father loves his child more than words will ever be able to express. Although they were strangers to me, I am honored to have shared this precious celebration of accomplishment in that boy’s young life. I hope someday they will be able to go for ice cream and have a beautiful father and son outing. This event touched me deeply and made me consider my relationship with my own father. I hope that as they communicate further, more and more memories will be created for them to share. I am convinced the feelings held by all awesome fathers -- their hard work, their love, their pride, and their tears of love -- are all the same.
What do we know about the boy? A. His eyes were injured.
B. He loved going to the park.

C. He couldn’t make any sound. D. He had made progress through therapy. 12. How did the father feel after his son say “hi” to him? A. Sad. B. Proud. C. Worried. D. Impatient. What can you learn from the underlined sentence in Paragraph 2? Only words convey a father’s love. A dumb father loves his child more. Father’s love is silent but warm in heart. If your father says he loves you, then it’s fake. What does the author want to tell us with this story? All parents value their kids’ achievements. A father’s unconditional(无条件的)love is touching. Healthy relationship with a father is good for children. Children with speech disorders deserve more attention. Where can we probably read this article? A. In a story book. B. In a travel guide. C. In a science book. D. In a sports magazine. B A sea turtle swims through the water and spots a white object floating near the surface. “Yum!” it thinks. “A jellyfish!” Chasing after its dinner, the turtle swallows the item. But the floating object isn’t a jellyfish — it’s a plastic bag that could make the sea turtle sick. This sea creature isn’t alone: Over 700 species of marine animals have been reported to have eaten or been trapped in plastic. Scientists think that the amount of plastic in the ocean might triple(三倍) by 2050. But by understanding the issue and taking action, you can help stop that from happening. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH PLASTIC? First, let’s get real: Not all plastic is bad. Bike helmets, car airbags, and many medical supplies made with plastic save lives. Plastic water bottles can bring clean drinking water to people who don’t have it, and plastic straws can help people with disabilities drink. The problem is that most of us use and then throw away more plastic than we need: things like grocery bags, drink bottles, straws, food wrappers, and plastic packaging around toys. This kind of plastic that’s used only once before being thrown away is called single-use plastic, and it makes up more than 40 percent of all plastic trash. WHERE DOES THE PLASTIC GO? That’s a lot of trash. Scientists think that 8.8 million tons of plastic winds up in the ocean every year. How does it get into the sea? Plastic left on the ground as litter often blows into creeks and rivers, eventually ending up in the ocean. And第3页共8页
because plastic trash is different from other types of waste — it doesn’t decompose(分解) back into nature like an apple core or a banana peel — it stays in the ocean forever. That means fishing nets thrown into the sea can trap animals and harmful straws can be mistaken as food. WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT? You can do so much to help keep Earth clean! You can look at how much single-use plastic your family uses by filling out a plastic journal for a week — then talking about what you can do to use less. By working together, our choices can help save animals and the ocean they live in.What can we know from Paragraph 1? The sea turtle has eaten a jellyfish as its dinner. Sea creatures like eating the floating object. The sea turtle is not alone to eat the jellyfish. More and more plastic will appear in the sea. What is the problem of plastic according to Paragraph 2? A. Plastic can save people’s lives. B. Plastic can be used only once. C. Plastic can help the disabled to drink. D. Plastic can produce a lot of rubbish . 18. What does the underlined word “it” refer to? A. Plastic trash. B. A banana peel. C. Fishing net. D. An apple core. What’s the author's writing purpose according to the passage? To tell us a plastic bag that could make the sea turtle sick. To call for our action against plastic pollution. To show a fact that not all plastic is bad. To help save animals and keep the Earth clean. What is the best title of this passage? A. How to Use Plastic B. A Story of A Sea Turtle C. Plastic Pollution D. Plastic Saves Lives C Three Chinese astronauts from the Shenzhou-13 manned spaceship returned to the Earth after completing their six-month mission. One of their major goals was to prepare the station for future groups of taikonauts(中国航天员)who will complete the assembly of the space station. Thanks to a new quick return procedure carried out for the first time, Shenzhou-13’s return trip lasted about nine hours rather than the 24-hour trip for Shenzhou-12, with the return capsule only circling the Earth five times before entering its final return orbit instead of 11 times as in past missions. The Shenzhou-13 crew was responsible for taking out some of the science instruments to be 第4页共8页
used for experiments on the station. They also performed two spacewalks, conducted more than 20 different science experiments in addition to delivering two live educational lectures. Taikonaut Wang Yaping, who gave the first public class from the Tiangong-1 space station, gave two such classes on this trip to Tiangong-2, which were viewed by millions of school children in China. In addition, the taikonauts were sent questions from 20 schools in 13 U.S. states by American school children. The pre-recorded questions and responses were shared with students, parents and teachers at a “My Questions to Taikonauts” event on April 9 sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C. This was the first six-month mission, which will give those on the ground the opportunity to study the effects of the longer duration mission on the taikonauts, especially on the ageing process. The six-month stay will be common for astronauts in the future. Visiting the Wenchang Space Launch Center on April 15, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the facility serves China’s new-generation, heavy-lift carrier(运载)rockets and plays a significant role in the country’s deep-space exploration. The Chinese President called for efforts to achieve “world-leading standards” for China’s spacecraft launch facilities. 21. What does the underlined word “assembly” probably mean? A. building B. discovery C. invention D. imagination What is the improvement of Shenzhou-13's return trip before entering its final return orbit? The Lives of Shenzhou-13 Astronauts in Space The World-leading Spacecraft: Shenzhou-13 第二节 请阅读下面的短文, 并从下列方框里的六个句子中选择五个还原到原文中, 使原文 的意思完整、连贯。(共 5 小题, 每小题 2 分) A. There are many more high-tech elements that improve athletic performance. Known as “the fastest ice”, the 12,000-square-meter rink (冰场) has received very good feedback from the athletes. High-tech elements gave “wings” to athletes, helping them become “faster, higher, stronger”. It cooled the ice and kept the temperature changes on the surface within just half of one degree. This try was very successful that athletes can breathe more easily than before. Some events only last a few seconds, and the wind is changing all the time. During the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, athletes from all over the world broke both personal and Olympic records. (26) ________. With the help of technology, the National Speed Skating Oval (the Ice Ribbon) saw 12 new Olympic records and one world record. (27) ________. “It makes everyone skate faster,”an athlete said after he bagged the gold. The secret behind is a new carbon dioxide (二氧化碳) ice-making technology. Speed-skating requires a very flat ice surface. If the ice surface temperature doesn’t change much, the ice stays flatter. Flat ice is easier to skate on. Liquid carbon dioxide was put under the ice for the first time. (28) ________. In events like freestyle skiing and ski jumping, the direction and speed of the wind could largely affect athletes’ performance. A research team from the Chinese Academy of Sciences developed a wind measuring system using AI technology. “(29) ________. This system allows athletes and coaches to ‘see’wind directly through real-time data on their pads, and decide when and where to jump,” the team leader Shao Yun told Beijing Daily. (30) _________. Good examples include drag-reducing (减少阻力的) sportswear, smart beds that massage (按摩) athletes, and robots that cook. All these helped keep China’s promise to hold an “athlete-centered” Olympics, said Zhao Weidong, the spokesperson of the Beijing organizing committee.
