Activity 1

在书中找出并背诵以下短语或者句子

3. 他们将不会欢迎像你这样的人。

4. 住在第九大街城市花园小区的一栋公寓里。

 Activity 2

Step 1: Show some sentences about neighbours.

A good neighbour is better than a brother in the next village. (远亲不如近邻)  

Step 2: Show some pictures and talk about them.

Which one do you like? Why? 

Activity 3

Learn Eddie and Hobo’s dialogue.

Step 1: Listen to the tape and answer some questions.

(1) What is Hobo going to do?

(2) Does Eddie want to meet new neighbours?

(3) Why don’t neighbours welcome Eddie in Hobo’s opinion?

Step 2 Read and act it out.

Step3 Let’s say about Hobo and Eddie.

1. I’m afraid they won’t welcome visitors like you. 我恐怕他们不欢迎像你这样的客人吧。

  be afraid of (doing) sth. / 

  be afraid (that) +句子   “害怕……”

2. How many buildings are there in your neighbourhood?

    how many + 可数名词复数

    how much + 不可数名词，二者都是对数量的询问。

e.g.: How many apples on the table?

        桌子上有多少苹果？

        How much milk in the bottle?

        瓶子里有多少牛奶？
