一、教学目标:
1. To learn some new words, phrases (prepare, plenty of, exit, bank) and useful expressions;
2. To learn to write an invitation letter and give directions correctly;
3. To learn to share happiness with others.

四、教学过程:
Step1 Present the teaching aims.
Step2 Lead-in
- Have a free talk to lead in the topic.
- Master the new words by teaching and talking about the birthday party for Ms. Chen’s sons.
Step3 Presentation-----Suzy’s letter
1. Listen to Suzy’s invitation letter twice and answer 3 questions:
• 1. Where is Suzy going to have her birthday party?
• 2. What time will the party start?
• 3. Who will Suzy invite to the party?
2. Read the letter alone and answer two questions.
• 4. What will they do at the party?
• 5. What else is in Suzy’s invitation letter?
3. Work in pairs to complete Suzy’s map.
4. Work out the way to write an invitation letter.
5. Play a game to give more directions.
6. Present useful expressions which can help the Ss to write an invitation letter.
Step4 Writing
1. Work in groups of four to fine the way from Miss Liu’s school to Ms. Chen’s home.
2. Help Ms Chen write an invitation letter alone.
Step5 Show Time
1. Choose some letters written by the Ss to present on the screen.
2. Invite the writers to read it for the other Ss.
3. Ask other Ss to check and correct if there are some mistakes.
Step6 Conclusion
1. Conclude the key points of this lesson.

五、教学设计说明
本课是教授如何写邀请函的一节写作课,学生对于写作课的第一反应往往就是枯燥、无从下手。所以在设计这节课的时候,我首先考虑的是怎样避免枯燥、化繁为简,帮助学生一步步地走进写作,让学生在自主学习的同时体会写作的乐趣。以下谈谈我对这节课的教学环节的设计意图。
课前准备:课前导学案的下发是为了学生提前做好预习工作(导学案见文末),播放了一首轻快的英文歌目的使学生放松心情、从优美的歌声中热爱英语的学习(一直认为听英文歌也是很好的学习英语的方式),同时因为是借班上课,所以课前我先进行了自我介绍和分组,为上课节约时间。
课中:1、呈现课题和教学目标是为了让学生快速地融入课堂并且明确自己学这堂课的目的。2、通过让学生回答天气、周几、日期(3月24日)这三个问题,让学生练习口语的同时,能够快速引出问题:“My sons’ birthday is coming. It’s on 31st March. How can I celebrate it?”目的是让学生思考庆祝生日需要怎样的准备,然后根据学生回答,步步紧扣,创设真实的情境、结合图片教授生词(prepare, prepare sth. for sb., prepare to do sth, plenty of, bank, exit),在语境中操练其用法,为后续学习扫除障碍。3、然后通过听、读Suzy’s letter回答问题训练学生的听力、提高学生阅读能力, pair work让学生自主完成地图的同时,可以训练学生的合作意识、及自主解决问题的能力。之后和学生一起找出邀请函的结构,避免了单纯的“填鸭式”教育,也更有利于学生记忆邀请函的写作要点。同时,让学生以“抢答”的形式翻译一些“指向”的短语,可以激发学生兴趣,既避免枯燥课堂又复习、强化了“指向”、找出信中有用的表达方式,为后续写作工作扫除障碍。4、在写作过程中,结合学生的特点,我选择了让学生通过小组活动找出“去陈老师家的路线”,增加学生的团队合作意识、培养学生发现问题、解决问题的能力,而且还锻炼了口语交际,同时也为学生独立写作降低了难度。之后独立写作的同时,与中考结合给出规范写作提示,锻炼了学生的独立思考能力、写作能力,而我在教室走动的同时可以对学生进行个别指导、及时发现学生写作中的问题并及时纠正。学生写完后采取同桌互换检查也能锻炼他们的查漏补缺能力。5、在写作展示的过程中,我利用投影设备呈现学生作品,让本人读、他人纠错的方式讲解作文,避免了单纯枯燥的讲解,也想通过这种方式让学生记忆更加深刻。6、通过总结,帮助学生回顾并更好地记忆本课重点、难点。同时,告诉学生除了生日、其它节日等重大活动都可以用类似的方法写邀请函并建议学生学会分享人生中的快乐时光,在进行知识拓展的同时也进行了德育渗透。
课后:回家作业的布置能帮助学生更好地复习、掌握本课内容,同时养成预习的好习惯。
