    The Teaching Plan of Task in Unit 5 Amazing things

    The analysis of this lesson: This lesson is the last period in Unit 5 amazing things. It aims at helping the students write an article about amazing things.

    The analysis of students’ situations: The students have weaker foundations and lower English abilities than the average level. They need more help and more cooperation in this lesson.

    Teaching aims:

    After this lesson, the students are able to

    1)    Language points: acquire words, expressions and sentence structures; understand the application of the simple past tense

    2)    Language abilities: be aware of the construction procedures by analyzing the sample article, make sentences with some sentence structures, write an article about amazing things with the given information in a complete writing procedure

    3)    Learning strategies: use the given information to describe an amazing thing ; cooperate with each other

    4)    Emotional attitudes: become more interested in the amazing world and glad to introduce the amazing thing to each other.

    Teaching important points:

    1. Get the students better prepared for writing

    2. Help them write an article step by step

    3. Lead them to correct and improve their articles in the checking step

    Teaching difficult points

    1. Collect abundant resources in the students preparations for writing.

    2. Help them to know how to change the notes into sentences.

    3. Lead them to find out some mistakes from their schoolmates articles and learn from them.

    Teaching procedures

    Step 1 Lead-in

    Read the study aims and tasks together to get aware of todays learning key points.

    Step 2 Pre-writing

    1. Preparations for some words and expressions.

    1)    Play a guessing game about different kinds of animals.

    2)    Ask them to use the animals names and phrases to make a short sentence.

    1. Preparations for some new words and expressions that are needed in the writing tasks.

    1)    Finish the exercise on the learning plan.

    2)    Present some pictures about amazing people and things and lead them to consolidate the new expressions.

    1. Preparations for some useful sentence structures.

    1)    Ask the students to collect some adjectives to describe the quality of the things and some to describe their feelings.

    3) Help them to use the words in the sentence structures

    4.Preparations for the construction of the writing with the help of the sample article.

    1) set the theme: amazing things in the world

    2) watch a video about making a sandwich and select one amazing thing you want to talk about: sandwich.

    3)set the contents and structures of the article:

    Para 1 [Introduction(介绍) about the world]

    Help them write more sentence structures about the world.

    Para 2[One amazing thing you want talk about]

    Help them to write more sentence structures about one amazing thing they want to talk about.

    Para 3 [Fun facts about the amazing things]

    By reading in the group, they get an understanding of notes.

    By reading the notes and finding out the forms of the verbs, they know which tense to use.

    By filling the blanks according to the sample, they get some tips and know how to make notes into sentences.

    Para 4 [Your feelings]

    Help them to write more sentence structures about one amazing thing they want to talk about.

    Step 3 While-writing & Post-writing (I)

    1. Write an article about TV with teachers and partners help.

    2. Check three schoolmates articles and learn from their mistakes when checking their own one.

    Step 4 While-writing & Post-writing (II)

    1. Write an article about ice cream on their own.

    2. Check it on their own or by their partners.

    3. Present some students works.

    Step 5 Conclusion
