预习指导
一、方法指导
1.预习Page 59-60上的生词,根据音标能读出这些词,并掌握其词性和汉语意思。
2.朗读3a的文章,找出重点句子。
3.大声朗读Grammar Focus中的句子并试着翻译,初步了解本单元的语法重点。
二、预习检测
汉译英
1.一些不寻常的事 something unusual

课堂教学
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class.
2.Show a schoolbag and ask:
Whose schoolbag might it be?
Ask some students to get their inferences.Review “must/might/could/can’t”.
3.Ask several pairs of students to role⁃play the conversation in 2d.
Step 2 Work on 3a-3c
1.Play a piece of sound and ask:
Did you hear anything unusual?What might be happening?(The students make inferences)
Then ask:How do you feel when you hear a strange noise?
2.Let the students read the passage about the town quickly and choose the title for the passage.
3.Get the students to read the passage and mark the language items they don’t understand.Lead the students to learn them and finish the task in 3b.
4.Have the students read the passage again carefully and then finish the task in 3c.Ask the students to write what people think about the strange noises.Then let them discuss the opinions and give their reasons.
5.Encourage the students to retell the story with the help of the contents in 3c.
Step 3 Work on Grammar Focus
1.Lead the students to read aloud the sentences in the Grammar Focus until fluently.
2.Explain the usage of modal verbs.
Step 4 Work on 4a
1.Ask the students to finish the task in 4a.Check the answers.
2.Get the students to read aloud these dialogues.
3.Help the students learn to make inferences.
Step 5 Work on 4b
1.Get the students to read the first sentence of each conversation in 4b.Then ask them to write down the possible reasons.
2.Ask some students to say out the sentences to the class.
Step 6 Work on 4c
1.Read the instruction and ask the students to look at the picture.
2.Make the students work in groups.And ask them to make inferences and give reasons.
◇教学反思◇
本课时通过3a部分的阅读,训练学生获取有效阅读信息、归纳主题的能力,然后由浅入深,层层推进。通过3c的表格让学生把握文章的具体细节。根据表格复述课文既检验了学生对课文的掌握程度,也检验了学生对语言输出的能力。通过语法的讲解让学生加深了对情态动词表示推测的理解和掌握。
在课堂上可以多多尝试一些新的方法去提高学生的阅读能力。对于语法知识的讲解要详细到位,尽量让所有学生能够跟上步伐。
