Do you have trouble trying to create the next big idea? Sometimes the answer isn’t to just force an idea out of your mind. Instead, you might want to try sitting back, relaxing and letting your mind wander. Yes,you heard that correctly. If you are in need of a new idea, try daydreaming.
Researchers from the university of California,Santa Barbara, found an association between daydreaming and creative problem-solving. Their study includes having participants first do an “unusual-use task”.They had to try to come up with as many different ways to use an object as they could.
Then, the participants chose to do one of the following four things before doing the “unusual-use task” again:complete a difficult task;complete an easy task;take a 12-minute break;or skip the 12-minute break and move right on to the task exercise again.
Surprisingly, the group that performed best was the one that completed the easy task. Many participants reported that they were daydreaming while performing the easy task. So the researchers believed that this daydreaming might have helped unlock their creativity.
But how could daydreaming help the brain come up with creative ways? The answer is something known as “unconscious thought”.Even when you are not actively working to solve a problem,it is still in the back of your mind. Your brain is still thinking about the problem, but in a much more subtle(微妙的) way.
When you daydream, your mind is allowed to think in ways it normally would not. Because it is free of control,it can create completely new and out-of-the-box ideas.
Great ideas never come easily, but that does not mean you always have to work hard to get them. Feel free to do what you want and let your mind wander.
28.The “unusual-use task” in Paragraph 2 means that participants         .
A.complete an easy task B.complete a very difficult task
C.take a 12-minute break D.think of various ways to use an object
29.Why did the participants who completed the easy task perform best?
A.They were not actively working to solve the easy task.
B.They daydreamed and it helped them be more creative.
C.They were daydreaming while performing the difficult task.
D.They skipped the 12-minute break to complete the task again.
30.What does the underlined phrase “unconscious thought” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A.Your brain wander in a subtle way within your control.
B.Your brain knows clearly what you’re thinking and doing.
C.Your brain is thinking about a problem outside of your awareness.
D.Your brain refuses to receive any information from the outside world.
31.The passage mainly wants to tell us that         .
A.brainstorming is important to creative ideas B.daydreaming is a way to improve creativity
C.problem-solving skills are important in our lives
D.the more we exercise brains, the more ideas we’ll get

In most towns today, you can see teenagers standing over electronic machines with flashing lights, shooting at spaceships from other planets and dropping bombs on strange monsters (恶魔). The machines have names like Space Warrior, Dark Invader and so on. It used to be believed that damage was done only to those strange visitors from outer space, but now it seems that they are striking back.
Many teenagers like electronic games so much that they can’t stop playing. They spend hours tightly holding the joystick controls and constantly pressing buttons marked “fire”. They develop pains on their fingers because of the constant pressure. They play and play that the pains have no chance to cure properly. The rapid wrist movement required to guide the spaceship across the screen causes another problem: The muscles of the wrist and arm become so inflamed and swollen (充血红肿) that they press against the bones. This condition is what doctors now call “Space Warrior’s Wrist”.
Other strange aches and pains also are likely to affect the elbows and shoulders.
Another even more alarming problem is shown by the case of a 17-year-old girl which was recently reported in the British Medical Journal. She had been playing various kinds of electronic games for more than two hours a day. Her father repaired games and machines and she could use the cassettes and systems in his workshop as often as she liked. One day, after playing a game called Dark Invader, she lost consciousness (晕倒) and fell to the floor.
Doctors who examined her found she was suffering from an unusual illness caused by lights flashing at a particular frequency (频繁).
    32. Whom are electronic games found very popular with?
    A. People living in towns. B. Students studying in high schools.
    C. Young people. D. Girls working in their father’s workshops.
    33. What is “Space Warrior’s Wrist” caused by?
    A. Constantly pressing the buttons. B. Rapidly moving across the screen.
    C. Tightly holding the joystick controls. D. Inflamed and swollen muscles of the wrist.
    34. The case of a 17-year-old girl given by the writer shows that the writer _______.
    A. supports playing electronic games B. feels very sorry for the girl
    C. disagreed with young people’s playing electronic games D. feels worried about young people’s poor health
    35. From the passage we can conclude that playing electronic games is _______.
    A. enjoyable and helpful to the study B. amusing and satisfying
    C. interesting but harmless to the eyes D. exciting but harmful to the health and study

    参考范文
    Dear Editor,
At present, many wild animals have already died out and hundreds of others are becoming endangered. So it is necessary to protect wild animals. If nothing is done,we may find ourselves alone on the earth.
Wild animals are endangered for many reasons.Firstly, the forests where wild animals live are being destroyed. As a result,a lot of animals are losing their habitats.Secondly, too much hunting also causes the disappearance of certain species of wild animals.
As far as I am concerned, measures must be taken to keep people from destroying forests and punish those who hunt illegally. And more wildlife centers should also be set up.
    Yours,
    Li Hua
