    “Use the spare tire in the trunk. Then we can replace it when we reach Virginia,” she suggested. Tnny lked dwn at his feet sheepishly. “I... haven't had the spare tire replaced since the last time we had a flat.” Flra seemed upset, but tried t remain psitive. “Maybe we can call a service,” she suggested. But a quick glance at their cell phnes tld them that there was n signal in the area. Jan lked at her mther in the frnt seat, and her father still staring blankly at the flat tire utside.     Jan began t get wrried. N ther cars had passed by in a while and it seemed like they were far away frm a twn center. I was happy fr Jack's achievement, but I realized I had made a big mistake when I said nthing at the lunch table that day. Why was I s afraid that my friends might find ut that I like t read?
