Dear Editor,

I’m Li Hua, chairman of the students’ union. Nowadays there exists an increasingly serious problem of students’ wasting food in the school canteen, which has gradually become a common concern of the public. It seems that some students tend to think little of the significance of saving food. Additionally, some others even take it for granted to throw away half-eaten food.

From my perspective, there are various reasons contributing to the phenomenon. For one thing, a lot of students order the food more than they can eat. For another, it is not uncommon to find students lacking the awareness of cherishing food.

Given the fact that the problem has gradually become widespread, series of measures should be taken to cope with it. First, students themselves are supposed to estimate roughly how much they can eat up. Second, the school canteen can put up some posters to promote food saving actions and urge students to stop wasting any more. Please remember, everyone’s effort counts.

Nowadays no matter which tourist attraction we visit, we can always see such words as "I have visited this place" carved in walls or trees. Obviously, these words don't go well with the surroundings. What's more,it ruins the ancient buildings or spoils our natural environment.

The reason for this is probably that some tourists don't have the sense of protecting our cultural heritage. But I think that we should have strict rules to discipline those tourists' bad behavior and they should be forced to pay for the damage.

I agree with what you said. It also worries me that many students have some mental problems. Some students are so worried about exams that they can’t fall asleep at night. Some are discouraged and tend to lose heart because of their failure in exams. Others can’t get along well with their parents or with their classmates. They always feel stressed and easily get angry.
In fact, there’re many ways for us to deal with our mental problems. First of all, we can turn to our teachers for help. Second, there is no doubt that communication is of great importance. When we have a talk about our problems with our friends or classmates, we can feel much at ease. Last but not least, we need to develop a positive attitude towards our studies and our life. With the mental problems removed, we will keep in normal mental health and study happily.
