    Chapter 1 Lead-in : (导入新课)

    Step 1 Lead in the questions by showing a part of video.

      Free talk:

    Do you have any trouble with your parents?

      What do you dislike that your parents do?

      Imagine:  Your parents go away on business, and you   have to stay at home   alone. How do you think of this situation?

      Is it a perfect holiday for you?Or is it a hard time? Why?

     Encourage them answer the questions actively.

     

    Chapter 2 The students can learn by themselves, and ask some questions about the study (自主学习 提出疑问)

    Step 2 Presentation

    1.(Fast reading) choose the best summary.

    a) Zheng Chenyu found his life more difficult without his     parents.

    b) Zheng Chenyu depended on his parents to prepare his meals.

    c) Zheng Chenyu had so much homework that he did not have time to look after himself.

    d) Zheng Chenyu should learn to cook.

       2. (carefully reading)

    listen  the first two para. and then answer the question

         a. What makes Zheng Chenyu unhappy?

         b.Make a list about what Zheng Chenyu did on the first day.

     It is easy to find out the answers

      3.find out the sentences with the following words and then guess the meaning and make sentences with them. (精讲点拨)

     actually (in fact)  manage  unhappy  turn off  order (n.)

    be worried about  on business

    4.read out these sentences and pay attention to the dark words.

     Although they loved me, I felt a bit unhappy with them.

    I became so bored with their orders that I wished they would leave me alone.

    Make the students learn about the adverbial clause of concession and result.

    5.read the para.3 loudly and quickly and then retell the part, make them remember the phrases in one minutes.

    The next morning I woke up late.I had to hurry to school without breakfast,but I was still late for school.The teacher asked me for my homework,but I could not hand it in.With an empty stomach,I was unable to play basketball with my classmates!I felt tired and sleepy at school all day long.
