Arinze Stanley is a talented young Nigerian artist whose works often leave people asking themselves if they're looking at a pencil drawing or a high-definition(高清的) black and white photograph. Yes, his drawing skills are that good!
Arinze's interest in art, and drawing in particular, was started at a young age, primarily by the fact that he was always surrounded by paper. His family ran a paper company, so he would often kill time by grabbing a piece of paper and trying his hand at drawing. But he only started exploring hyper-realism in 2012, and became a professional artist a year later. He has never taken any professional art classes, and says that the level of detail he is able to produce is only the result of years of practice. Looking at his fantastic artworks, it's safe to say that he has come a long way in very little time.
"I've got a motto I work with and that's 'Practice, Patience, and Persistence'," Arinze said. "Constant practice made me better at what I do but it would not have been possible without persistence and patience, as it takes over 200 hours to complete a drawing and I only have time to work during the night due to my busy schedule at work during the day."
Arinze says that he takes inspiration for his artworks from everything around him, and takes reference photos himself using a camera, but focuses primarily on portraits (肖像画). He acknowledges that he often ends up staring at people's faces unconsciously, and adds that being a portrait artist has made him appreciate the varieties of human facial structures and details.
24.What does the author think of Arinze's works?
A.They are contradictory. B.They are controversial.
C.They are quite true to life. D.They make the audience less confident.
25.What can we know about Arinze's childhood from the text?
A.He used to take art classes. B.He had easy access to paper.
C.He was interested in paper folding. D.He was able to take amazing photos.
26.Where are Arinze's ideas for his drawings from?
    A.His real life. B.Art books.
    C.Masters' drawings. D.His wild imagination.
27.According to the text, Arinze _____.
A.is still an amateur artist B.draws extremely quickly
C.was bom to be detail-focused D.has progressed quickly in drawing
    C
Space is becoming more crowded. Quite a few low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites have been launched into the sky, which are designed to move around the Earth only a few hundred kilometres above its surface. SpaceX and OneWeb plan to launch LEO satellites in their thousands, not hundreds, to double the total number of satellites in orbit by 2027.
That promises to change things on Earth. LEO satellites can bring Internet connectivity to places where it is still unavailable. This will also be a source of new demand for the space economy. Morgan Stanley, a bank, projects that the space industry will grow from $350 billion in 2016 to more than $1.1 trillion by 2040. New Internet satellites will account for half this increase.
For that to happen, however, three worries must be overcome. Debris (碎片) is the most familiar concern. As long ago as 1978, Donald Kessler, a scientist at NASA, proposed a scenario (设想) in which, when enough satellites were packed into low-Earth orbits, any collision could cause a chain reaction which would eventually destroy all spacecraft in its orbital plane. Solutions exist. One solution is to grab the satellites with problems and pull them down into the Earth’s atmosphere. Another is to monitor space more closely for debris. But technology is only part of the answer. Rules are needed to deal with old satellites safely from low-Earth orbits.
Cyber-security is a second, long-standing worry. Hackers could take control of a satellite and steal intellectual property, redirect data flows or cause a collision. The satellite industry has been slow to respond to such concerns. But as more of the world’s population comes to rely on space for access to the Internet, the need for action intensifies. Measures will surely be taken to protect network security.
The third issue follows from the first two. If a simple mistake or a cyber-attack can cause a chain reaction which wipes out hundreds of billions of dollars of investment, who is responsible for that? Now the plans of firms, wishing to operate large numbers of satellites are being studied. But there is a long way to go before the risks are well understood, let alone priced.
As space becomes more commercialized, mind-bending prospects open up: packages moved across the planet in minutes by rocket rather than by plane, equipment sent to other small planets, passengers launched into orbit and beyond. All that and more may come one day. But such activities would raise the same questions as LEO satellites do. They must be answered before the space economy can truly develop.
28.Which of the following can replace the underlined word" dock with" in Paragraph 2?
    A.deal with B.keep up with C.join together D.crash
29.Why many countries now require firms to have a way to bring back their satellites?
A.Because of the growing space waste problem.
B.Because the frequency of space launches are dramatically increasing.
C.Because they can earn large profits from it.
D.Because Astroscale has found a new method of capturing the space garbage.
30.What will Astroscale do to solve the space junk problem?
A.An astronaut controls a robotic arm on the International Space to capture the "client "satellite
B.Through a magnetic plate remotely controlled by humans on the ground to catch the "client "satellite
C.Finding the "client "satellite and attaching to it with a magnetic plate automatically
D.Tumbling to match the motion of “client satellite the drag three or four satellites out of its orbit into atmosphere.
31.What can we infer from the passage?
A.people will burn the space junk up in Earth's atmosphere in the future
B.Japan and Russia will conduct space debris cleanup experiment together
C.These kinds of demonstrations have never been done before.
D.the demonstration mission will be divided into three phases
    D
Brain aneurysms (脑动脉瘤)affect about one in every 50 Americans and can lead to serious medical emergencies, including stroke, brain damage and death if they burst Existing treatment options are limited and often invasive (扩散),and surgical outcomes can vary widely from person to person.
Researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) have become the first team to produce a living, bioprinted aneurysm outside of the human body, perform a medical procedure on it and observe it respond and heal as it would in an actual human brain.
"While there are a lot of promising treatment options, some still have a long way to go,“ said Moya, the project's principal investigator. One common treatment is “clipping” —attaching a metal clip to the base of the aneurysm to redirect blood flow away and keep it from bursting. The procedure is highly invasive, requiring surgeons to open up the skull and expose the brain. A more common and less invasive treatment is the metal coiling (缠 绕)approach. The downside to "coiling” is that success is highly dependent on a variety of factors, including the geometry of the patient's blood vessels, which differ from one person to the next, researchers said.
"Animal models aren't necessarily the best way to try out these options, as they lack direct observation of treatment effects and have uncontrollable aneurysm geometries. Unlike animal models, LLNL's platform allows scientists to directly measure the liquid.
To take some of the guesswork out of aneurysm treatments, Hynes, the original principal investigator, realized researchers would need a way to validate more predictive 3D models that take patient geometry into account by bioprinting with human cells.
By combining the 3D-printed platform with computational models, researchers said they've developed a potential tool for surgeons to pre-select the best coil types, and perform “test runs" of procedures before attempting them on the human patient "What's exciting is that this platform copies the actual blood vessels and also is strong enough to handle a coiling procedure. This makes it ideal to be used as a training platform for surgeons." Moya said.
In addition to a testbed for surgical training, researchers said the platform has potential for improving the understanding of basic biology and the post-surgery healing response. While early results are promising, the researchers cautioned there's a long way to go before the platform sees application in the clinical environment.
32.What is the living, bioprinted aneurysm?
A.It's a set of surgical instrument.
B.It's a tissue transplanted in human body.
C.It’s a training platform for surgeons.
D.It's a treatment option for brain aneurysms.
33.What's the disadvantage of the “coiling” treatment option?
    A.The procedure is highly invasive.
B.It may lead to serious medical emergencies.
C.Surgical outcomes vary widely from person to person.
D.It completely depends on the geometry of the patient's blood vessels.
34.What makes animal models imperfect to try out the treatment options?
A.It's difficult to observe and gather data on them.
B.They are not strong enough to handle a coiling procedure.
C.Their aneurysm geometries are totally different from human's.
D.The potential response to the treatment options are uncontrollable.
35.What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A.The previous experiments have been in vain.
B.The platform has improved the understanding of basic biology.
C.Brain aneurysms can be cured without any risk with the platform.
D.More needs to be done before applying the platform in the clinical environment.
    第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)

Sleep is clearly important for our health, helping our bodies function at their best.36_____ Some new research suggests that sleep does have positive social consequences.
Sleep helps us to be kinder to others. When we sleep poorly, the parts of our brain devoted to mercy don't function as well. In one study, college-aged participants kept track of their sleep quality for two weeks and then performed a task while having their brains scanned. 37____.
Sleep helps us approach others and avoid loneliness. It's been long known that loneliness is associated with poor sleep. Can poor sleep lead to loneliness? In a recent study, researchers scanned people's brains after they slept normally or had a night of sleep deprivation (录夺).
38____ Participants were asked to watch videos of a stranger approaching them from a distance and to push a button when they felt the stranger was too close. 39_____ When participants had suffered abnormal sleep, they wanted the person to stop at a much greater distance than they did after a night of normal sleep, and their brains reflected a particular pattern.
40____ A recent study suggests it is true. Participants who were randomly assigned (分配)to keep or restrict their sleep over two days were then asked to do a difficult task while listening to very disgusting noise bound to make them annoyed. Those who'd restricted their sleep became much angrier during the task, compared to those who'd had normal sleep.
    A. Sleep helps us to be less angry and aggressive.
    B. They wanted to see how they would react to strangers.
    C. Did the poorly slept participants report feeling lonelier?
    D. Sleep makes a person not be angry and make more friends.
    E. But does getting a good night's sleep affect our relationships, too?

Besides, I have participated in some activities to serve as an interpreter , which gains me valuable experience. Furthermore, I have a good knowledge of the local tea history and culture. So I’m qualified to be an interpreter for the  festival.
I’d appreciate it if l can get your offer. Thank you very much!
Looking forward to your earliest reply.
