    This year’s ht weather and recrd rainfall have given farmers an excellent year fr grwing crps. The rice prductin has been duble what it was last year and it is exactly the same stry fr crn. (18)Many fruit crps have als been utstanding, with sme shwing three times the quantity grwn last year. Hwever, farmers are puzzled as t why the apple crp has been less than last year, (19) when ranges and peaches have dne s well. As yu wuld expect, mst grwers are very happy with this year’s crps. The higher quantities mean they can supply all their custmers in full and at the same time prmise tp quality. Hwever, high prductin will bring prices dwn—which, f curse, is gd news fr the custmers but nt s gd fr the grwers. (20) Still, with higher quantities being sld, it isn’t expected that prfits will be lwer. Of curse, it can be hard t predict the weather but grwers are hping that next year will bring similar cnditins, allwing them t build n the advantages f this year’s recrd harvest. Many f them are already laying aside land fr extra crps.
