1. 连词的作用：连接词与词，句子与句子的词

2. 并列连词：包括and，both… and，not only… but also…，neither… nor…，as well as；or，either… or…；but，yet；for，so等

3. 从属连词：包括after，before，when，while，as，until，till，since，as soon as；if，unless；because，as，since；so that，in order that；though，although，even if/though；so that，so… that…，such… that…；than，as… as…；that，if，whether等

1. 时间状语从句：由when，whenever，while，as，before，after，until，till，by the time，as soon as，hardly… when…，no sooner… than…，the moment，the minute，immediately，directly，instantly引导

2. 地点状语从句：由where，wherever引导

3. 原因状语从句：由because，as，since，now that引导

4. 条件状语从句：由if，unless，once，in case，as long as，on condition that引导

5. 目的状语从句：由so that，in order that，for fear that，in case引导

6. 结果状语从句：由so… that…，such… that…，so that，so引导

7. 比较状语从句：由than，as… as…，not so/as… as…引导

8. 方式状语从句：由as if，as though，as引导

9. 让步状语从句：由though，although，even if，even though，as，no matter what/who/which/how/when，whatever/whoever/whichever/however/whenever引导

1. and表示“和”，“并且”，用来连接对等关系的两部分；同时祈使句后连接and，有条件句的作用

2. both… and… 表示“A和B都…”（否定句是部分否定）

3. neither… nor…表示“既不也不”，要使用就近原则

4. not only… but also表示“不但……而且”，要使用就近原则

5. or表示“或者”含义，表示两个钟选择一个；如果祈使句后接or，则表示转折含义

6. either… or…表示“要么……要么……”，要使用就近原则（否定句是完全否定）

7. whether… or…表示“不管……还是……”

8. for可以表示“因为”，so可以表示“所以”

9. when，while，as都可以表示“当……时候”，when从句谓语动词可以是任何动词，可用于主从句动作同时发生或从句动作稍早于主句动作；while从句谓语动词只能是延续性动词，侧重主从句同时发生；as引导一个持续性动作，多用于主从句动作同时发生，可译为“一边……一边……”

10. until表示“直到……为止”，此时从句谓语动词必须是延续性动词；而not until则表示“直到……才”，此时从句谓语动词必须是非延续性动词，主句是否定式

11. if，unless可以引导条件状语从句

12. although/though引导从句不能与but连用，但可以与yet，still连用

13. so that，so/such… that…可以引导结果状语从句

13. as… as…，not as/so… as…，than可以引导比较状语从句

14. that，if/whether可以引导名词性从句
