1.Students can master the phrases and sentence patterns f this lessn.
2.Students can use “What are yu ding?”
教学重点
Be able t ask thers what they are ding and describe what they are ding.
教学难点
Master the phrases and wrds “listen t/talk t/China/children”.Especially the prnunciatin f “talk”.
教学准备
Teacher preparatin: multimedia curseware, textbk recrdings
Student Preparatin: Pre-class preparatin
教学过程
1. Warm-up & lead-in
(1) Befre the new lessn, students sang a sng tgether.
(2) Observe the picture and answer the questin “What is he/she ding?”.
(3) Listen and chant tgether.
2. Presentatin
(1) Lttery game.
Prepare a bx cntaining verb phrase cards. Let the students draw cards at randm and read the verb phrases alud. Of curse, there are sme cards with small rewards.
(Stimulate students’ interest in learning thrugh games.)
Put the wrd cards in the bx, teach the phrases that students can't read, and practice the sentence patterns.
T: What are yu ding?
S: I am listening t music.
T:What are yu ding?
S: I am talking t my friend.
(Learn the new phrases befre the text. Then students can understand the text better.)
(3) Use the curseware t explain “children” and “china”.
(4) Lk at the picture and answer the questin “What are the children ding?”
(5) Cnnect the phrase with the crrespnding picture.
(6) Listen t the tape and imitate the prnunciatin and intnatin.
(Make students familiar with these new phrases by repeating them many times.)
Practice
(1) Rle- play the dialgue.
(2) Explain the key and difficult pint.
(3) Practise expressing the phrases in pairs.
(4) Finish the three exercises.
(Students can practise the phrases and the present cntinuus tense they have just learned.)

教学反思
The furth grade children have a basic grasp f English knwledge and have a strng interest in English learning, but their macr grasp f systematic English is nt enugh, and their attentin is easily distracted in class. Sme students are still afraid t speak English. Try t pay attentin t these pints in class.
