    Getting ready
    Bring in the picture card f Tny and nine candles.
    Shw the picture card f Tny.
    T: Tday is Tny’s birthday.
    Sing “ Happy Birthday” using Tny’s name.
    T: Hw ld is Tny? Let’s cunt the candles. Repeat after me. One….Nine. Tny is nine.
    Using the bk
    T: Nw lk at yur bks and let’s listen.
    Play the tape.
    T: Let’s listen again and repeat.
    Play the tape, pausing after each expressin t have Ss repeat.
    Divide the class int tw grups.
    One grup takes the rle f Gg and the ther half takes the rle f Tny.
    Have each grup repeat after yu the first time.
    Encurage Ss t act ut the dialg in pairs.

    Bring in realia t intrduce the new language: tw each f ballns, candles, wrapped presents, ckies.
    Hld up each item and have Ss repeat.
