    Pictures, classrm bjects(bk, pencil, desk, etc.)

    Lessn 1 Stry & Vcabulary
    Stry
    Getting ready
    ·Sing a sng that Ss all knw,such as What’s yur name?frm Unit 1.
    ·T: I can sing.
    ·Pint t yurself and nd yes.
    ·Sing t the class the first few lines f the sng and encurage Ss t cntinue where yu left ff.
    ·If Ss can cntinue the sng,praise them by saying Yu can sing. When yu stp,pint t individual Ss and ask Can yu sing? Teach them t answer Yes, I can.
    Using the bk
    ·T: Open yur bks. Shw SB p.40
    ·Pint t Gg and Tny and say their names. Ss repeat.
    ·T: What’s this?(Hld up a bk.) [Ss: It’s a bk.]
    ·T: I can read. (Hld yur bk pen and act like yu are reading.)
    ·T: What’s this? (Pint t Tny’s bk n SB p.40.)
    ·Play the tape and help Ss pint as they listen.
    ·T: Gg can’t sing! (Hld yur ears as Gg sings.)
    ·Stp the tape.
    ·T: Can Gg sing? N! [Ss: N!]
    ·T: Gg can’t sing. Repeat. [Ss: Gg can’t sing.]
    ·T: Listen and repeat.
    ·Play the tape and pause after each sentence.
    ·T: Clse yur bks and listen.
    ·Play the tape again.
    Vcabulary

    ·Read each wrd ut lud. After each wrd,make a funny sund effect and pantmime. Have Ss d the same.
    ·Test Ss t see if they can remember the sund effects and pantmimes by calling ut individual wrds and asking them t make the sund effect and pantmime.
    ·After Ss have a little understanding f the vcabulary, have them take turns calling ut the wrds while the class perfrms crrespnding actins and pantmimes.
    ·Ss can cntinue the activity in pairs r small grups.

    ·Play the tape again and have Ss repeat.
    ·After enugh practice, pint t the pictures at randm and have Ss say the wrds.

    ·By pinting t the verbs n SB p.41 r shwing Picture Cards, give six verbs in randm rder. S1 pantmimes r makes sund effects fr each wrd. Teams guess the wrds as fast as they can by making questins with the wrds, e.g. Can yu sing? Can yu draw? T can time hw lng it takes each team t guess all wrds.

    ·Pint t each picture and elicit the verbs.
    ·Play the tape and have Ss number the bxes.
    Practice 2
    Getting ready
    ·Befre listening t the tape, pint t pictures and ask Ss t make Can yu (ck)?questins. [Ss: Can yu ck? Can yu draw?]
    ·Draw a smiley face and a sad face n the bard.
    ·Pint t the pictures and elicit the respnses. [Ss: Yes, I can. / N, I can’t.]

    ·Ss listen t the questins n the tape and respnd with what is the crrect answer fr them. [Ss: Yes, I can. / N, I can’t.]
    ·Ask individual Ss the same questin.
    ·Encurage Ss t interview each ther in pairs.
