Free talk T asks Ss to brainstorm some sportspersons by asking the following questions:• Who is your favourite sportsperson? • Why do you like him/her?• Can you introduce him/her?2. Task assignmentT: Boys and girls, do you love sports? Today’s class we’ll discuss your favorite sports stars and learn how to write a fact file about him/her.【设计意图：教师引导学生说出自己喜欢的体育明星，激发学生的兴趣，快速进入本堂课的主题，并设定本堂课的任务。】 Step 2 Deciding on the sportsperson to write 1. T asks Ss to have a discussion and choose a sportsperson to write.2. T asks Ss a question:    What is a fact file?• A fact file is a collection of information about a person or thing.2. T asks Ss to read the example in the textbook and find out the basic elements of a fact file.3. T leads students to summarize the basic elements of a fact file:      4. T leads students to think about how to write a fact file:Tip 1: Provide some figures about the person’s achievements.Tip 2: List the achievements in time order.Tip 3: Add more facts if necessary.【设计意图：充分发挥学生的主动性以及小组合作精神，让他们总结出写人物档案的基本要素及其语言特点，为下一步写作提供模板。】 Step 4 Task division T asks Ss to discuss in groups to think about all the work that needs to be done and how to divide the work properly among the group members. The tasks include:• searching for information• organizing the information to write a fact file• making a presentation【设计意图：这一步骤由各小组讨论完成，组员商议如何分工合作，将一项比较大的项目分解成更具操作性的小任务，提高组员的积极性和参与度】 Step 5 Presentation and assessmentT asks each group to display their process of making the fact file. And one member presents the work orally. When they display the work, they should pay attention to the following points: • Speak clearly and confidently.• Make eye contact with the audience.• Keep their facial expressions relaxed and friendly.• Talk at a proper speed and pause when it is necessary to give their audience time to think about what they have said.2.
