A team f researchers frm several institutins in the UK and ne in Estnia has created a type f buy(浮标) that has prven t be effective at frightening seabirds, thus preventing them frm getting caught in gillnets—a type f vertical fishing net that is made f a material that makes it nearly invisible underwater.
Every year, hundreds f thusands f seabirds die when they get caught in gillnets. Sme estimates suggest that up t a half-millin birds are caught in them each year. Over the years, researchers have created devices t prevent the birds frm trying t catch fish near r in gillnets, but thse didn't wrk well.
