Backgrund: Bell was a teacher at a schl fr the deaf. He tried t invent a machine t send messages ver an electrnic wire. This eventually led t the idea f a telephne. Later, with his assistant, he created a device t prduce and receive sund waves using electrical signals.
First phne call: On 10 March 1876, Bell made the first clear and cmplete phne call t his assistant, saying, “Mr Watsn-cme here-I want t see yu.”
Other infrmatin: Bell never had a telephne in his study, where he wanted t be alne with his thughts and wrk.
