    学生能够听懂与家庭生活相关的对话,并学会在与家人的交流中表达歉意;

    学生能够思考家庭成员间的关系,关爱家庭成员,共同营造和谐的家庭氛围。

     

    Discourse Analysis

    听说部分的内容是母女间的一段对话,表现母女间的情感交流,引导学生注重与家庭成员的积极交流。通过真实的语境,加深学生对单元主题的理解,提高学生的综合语言运用能力和交际能力,引导学生关爱家人、珍视亲情,正确处理与家人的关系,形成正确的家庭观。

    what】这组对话发生在一对母女之间:女儿向母亲电话抱怨其失信,未前来观看自己参加的校园剧演出。母亲为此做出解释、真诚道歉并给出补救措施,最终获得女儿原谅。【why】本单元充分利用话题内容(跟家人道歉),凸显人与自我主题,通过母女间的诚恳道歉,引发学生对家庭关系的思考,最终找到合理解决家庭矛盾的有效途径,形成珍视亲情,真诚沟通的良好品格,帮助学生形成正确的人生观、价值观,实现立德树人的根本任务。how第一部分旨在激活图示。通过引导学生观察微表情,展开头脑风暴,并进行小组讨论和分享,为后续听说活动做好准备。第二部分是听力的热身环节,学生带着问题有意识地听取对话中的有效信息,从而初步掌握对话的主旨大意,并将相应人物的情感态度与微表情进行配对。第三部分是听力的重点部分,引导学生梳理对话的关键信息,并基于听力文本展开分析,总结出道歉的范式。口语输出部分鼓励学生结合生活实际,根据所给问题链展开讨论,进行反思、分享,启发学生找到解决家庭矛盾的有效途径,从而实现知识和能力的迁移。

    Pre-listening

    【教师活动】

    Lead students to observe six pictures of micro-expression and ask them to list the corresponding adjectives (Brainstorming);

    Think about the following question according to the micro-expression interpretation;

    Question 1: Choose one micro-expression to describe one of your family, and analyze the reason.

    【学生活动】

    List the related adjectives as many as possible;

    Choose a micro-expression to describe his/her family according to their real life experience.

    To arouse the students’ interest in the topic;

    To activate the students’ existing schema;

    To lay a solid foundation to the while-listening part.

     

    While-listening

    【教师活动】

    Ask the students to listen for the first time and then choose the feelings that the speakers express;

    Check the answers and explain the reasons;

    Lead the students to listen carefully again and then complete Alice’s journal entry;

    Check the answers by listening with the tape script and learn the language points;.

    【学生活动】

    Match the feelings with the corresponding expressions and give his/her reason;

    Complete the journal entry;

    Learn the language points.

    To learn to analyze the change of feelings according to the content of the conversation and their tone of voice;

    To learn to extract required information while listening.

    Ask the students to think about a string of questions (based on the text):

    Check the answers;

    Ask the students to think about three more questions and point out that making a sincere apology matters.

    Lead the students to summarize the rule of “SAFE” when apologizing by four questions on the basis of the text structure:

    Summarize the topic by a chain of questions and deepen the theme that “Family Matters” at last.

    Ponder the questions and think about the questions independently.

    To analyze the key information in the text and summarize a model to make a sincere apology in daily life;

    To utilize the rule to ease tension in families;

    To realize that “Family matters” and effective communication is essential.

    【教师活动】Ask the students to write an apology letter to their family members or record a video of you saying sorry to family members with the “SAFE” rule, with the first and last sentence given.

    【学生活动】 Write an apology letter according to their life experience or record a video of you saying sorry to family members

    To encourage the students to make use of what they have learned to start writing an apology letter or recording a related video with a certain format;

    To lead the students to think their family relation deeply and rationally;

    Alice: [sadly] I knew it...

    Mum: Oh, no! I forgot, didn't I? Your concert was today, and I missed it!

    Alice: It wasn't a concert. It was the school play. And yes, you missed it.

    Mum: Alice, I'm so sorry! I was really busy with work. Someone was off sick, so I had to do his work, too.

    Alice: Couldn't you have asked someone else to do it? I know work is very important to you, it's just... Everyone said I was really good in the play. I wanted you to see it, too.

    Mum: I'm so sorry I didn't make it, dear. You worked so hard on your part, and I'm so proud of you. I should have been there. I promise I'll never do it again! Can you forgive me?

    Alice: It's all right. I understand you're very busy. But you've worked so much recently. You need some time off to relax. I don't like seeing you so tired and pale.

    Mum: I know, dear. Perhaps next week I could take a day off, and we we could go to the countryside.

    Alice: [happily] That sounds wonderful! We can go camping and have a picnic in the hills.

    Mum: And we can really talk and catch up!

    Alice: I'd love that!

    Mum: OK, I'll talk to my manager about it. Bye for now!
