    Lessn42 Nt very musical As we had had a lng walk thrugh ne f the markets f Old Delhi, we stpped at a square t have a rest. After a time, we nticed a snake-charmer with tw large baskets at the ther side f the square, s we went t have a lk at him. As sn as he saw us, he picked up a lng pipe which was cvered with cins and pened ne f the baskets. When he began t play a tune, we had ur first glimpse f the snake. It rse ut f the basket and began t fllw the mvements f the pipe. We were very much surprised when the snake charmer suddenly began t play jazz tunes and mdern pp sngs. The snake, hwever, cntinued t 'dance' slwly. It bviusly culd nt tell the difference between Indian music and jazz!

    5 It bviusly culd nt tell the difference between Indian music and jazz!tell 当“辨别”讲时,常与can, culd, be able t连用,有时也与介词 by, frm连用。tell the difference frm从。。。分辨e.g.I can’t tell ne frm the ther.tell by/frm依。。。分辨tell+从句e.g Hw can yu tell whether the meat is cked r nt? Yu can tell frm the clur f the meat.
