The Zhuang has the largest ppulatin amng the ethnic grups in China, whse language is Zhuang. They mainly live in the suth f China. Zhuang peple, being gd at singing and dancing, is a hspitable ethnic grup. They entertain guests with gd wine. As a rice-grwing natin, the Zhuang peple are kind t frgs. In sme places, the Zhuang peple hld wrship ceremny fr frgs. Therefre, it is frbidden t kill r eat frgs in the Zhuang areas.
Ya, the ldest ethnic grups in China, is widely distributedin the suth f China. It is basted as the natin with lngevity. The Ya peple believe in mre than ne gd. They chiefly live n rice and crn. Mst f the Ya peple prefer singing and can sing int a sng when they see smething.

Firstly, there are few large, flat areas f land in the regin. Building the terraces therefre meant that they culd increase the areas in which they culd grw rice. Secndly, althugh the regin has plenty f rain, the muntains are steep and the sil is shallw. The flat terraces catch the rainwater and prevent the sil frm being washed away.
The terraces are cleverly designed, with hundreds f waterways that cnnect with each ther. During the rainy seasn, it is alng these waterways that rainwater mves dwn the muntains and int the terraces. The sun heats the water and turns it int vapur. This frms cluds frm which rain falls dwn nt the muntain terraces nce again. These terraces als prvide a perfect envirnment fr birds and fish, sme f which feed n insects that can harm the rice crps.
