A blackboard.Ⅳ. Teaching proceduresStep 1 Warm upGive students a surprise: making banana milk shake. By making banana milk shake, lead in the linking words, first, then, after that, while, in the endStep 2 Analyze the passage Read the text and complete the gaps with linking words and then check the answers. Match the topics with each paragraph and check the answers. After that lead in the key words of each paragraph: the introduction, the beginning, the development, and the conclusion. Show students an outline and guide them to answer some questions according to this outline. To make the students understand my task, I will give them an example on paragraph 1. After setting an example, I will give them some time to find their answers and underline them on books.Step 3 Consolidate the passage After analyzing the passage in detail, give students 2 minutes to try to retell the passage according to the outline . Looking back at the passage again, besides the outline, what else should we pay attention to? Tell students the importance of title, tense, and person. Ask them to make a title for this text.Step 4 Writing: Describe a birthday party you have been to Brainstorm. Show the students some pictures to help them think of some ideas about the people, food, what to do and personal feelings. Make necessary notes about the party to complete the outline. Describe the party according to the notes and the outline orally. Share their own party with their classmates in groups of four. Before writing, look back at what we learnt just now. And remind them about the title, tense, and person.Step 4 ModifyLet the students correct their passage by themselves first and then show some of their passages.
