    I appeared frm a week in the wilderness and reached the start f the Rute Natinal 5 at Marantsetra, but my dream f a smth rad and speed was suddenly destryed by mud. The “wrst rad in the cuntry” changed my bicycle int a burden (负担) fr days. Finally, I_was_claimed_by_the_rad. Tired. Alne.
    As I wiped (擦) the mud frm my face and lked upwards, I was greeted by a Malagasy man. He helped me stand up and smiled playfully while he pinted t my bike, which sat next t his. I started again. But I fell again in the mud. Angrily, I tld him t g n, but if he understd he shwed n sign f it. His smile frced me back nt the bike. We cntinued like this fr hurs. But I fell less. Studying my quick guide, slwly I learned. As we passed thrugh a village, a grup f children saw me and shuted ludly. His nly wrds were: “Their parents tell them while peple steal and eat them. Funny, n?”
    I tried t ask why, but he had already set ff. I tried t catch up; as I gt clser, he tk it as a challenge and sped up. We raced alng the rad. I rde a little faster and I was just behind, abut t catch up with him. With a smile, he sped up and was away, leaving me breathless.

    Raccns are smaller relatives f bears. They are native t Nrth America, but they can als be fund in Asia and Eurpe. Raccns live in wded areas clse t water, but they can be ften fund near urban areas. There are abut 7 different species f raccns. Pygmy raccn is the nly endangered species.
    Raccns usually reach 40 t 70cm in length and weigh between 5­26kg. Raccns that live in clder climates are larger and heavier. They have grayish fur, black masks arund eyes and lng tails cvered with black and brwn bands. Because f their tails, they are als called “ringtail”.
    Raccns_are_mnivres. They like t eat insects, eggs, small mammals, fruit, berries, garbage, and s n. Raccn's hands lk like human's. They each have five fingers and are used t cllect fd, pen shells, dr r trash cans. Raccns ften place fd in water befre they start t eat it. They have highly sensitive sense f tuch and water increases their sensitivity even mre. By tuching the fd, they get better insight abut things they will eat.
    They are easily adaptable (适应的) t varius envirnments. They can live in hllw (中空的) trees equally happily like they can in useless cars. Raccns live n their wn and hunt at night. They dn't hibernate (冬眠), but they spend the cldest days f winters in their hles.
    Mating (交配) seasn takes place frm January t mid March. Tw mnths later, female will give birth t 3­4 babies. Their tails dn't have bands, and the mask arund eyes is still missing. Mther is very prtective and she will teach them hw t survive and what t eat as they becme­ready t leave the hle. Raccns usually can live nly 1.8 t 3.1 years in the wild, but they can live up t 20 years at a z.
    Raccns can pass rabies, a kind f disease, t hme­raised animals and peple, which is very dangerus. What's mre, their waste ften has rundwrms.

    The Met Office, the UK's natinal weather service, decided t give strms bys' and girls' names in 2015 in the same way as they did in America.
    The Met Office hpes that naming big strms will mean peple are mre aware (意识到) f them and hw dangerus they can be. Derrick Ryall, frm the Met Office, said, “We have seen hw naming strms elsewhere in the wrld raises peple's awareness f strms befre they break.”
    In the past, the same UK strm culd be given different names by different rganisatins. “We nticed that many rganisatins during the last cuple f winters, when we have had bad strms, started giving names t them. Think back t the St Jude's Day strm in 2013, and the s­called Hurricane Bawbag in Sctland in 2011. But it led t cnfusin (混乱),” a Met Office spkeswman said.
    Accrding t the Met Office, there is a name fr each letter f the whle alphabet (字母表), except fr Q,U,X,Y and Z. That is the same as the naming traditin used in America. And nt all strms will be big enugh t get names — nly thse expected t cause great damage.
    If there are mre than 21 strms in a year, the Met Office will start again with anther name beginning with “A”. Hwever, accrding t Met Office spkeswman Lindsay Mears, “It's unlikely we wuld get thrugh the whle alphabet in ne seasn. We had 14 strms in the very bad winter f 2013/14, and if the naming system had been in peratin then we wuldn't have used the whle alphabet.”
