Eco City Farms are becoming more popular in cities and towns around the United States.
Eco City Farms in Maryland are located near shopping centres, car repair shops and homes. The neighbourhood is a working-class community. People do not have very much money. And they have limited access to fresh food in markets.
Over the past two years, the farm has attracted volunteers from the community like Marcy Clark. She schools her four children at home. On a recent day she brought them to Eco City Farms for a lesson, and her son Alston Clark thinks his experience is very valuable. “I like coming out here,” he says. “You know, you connect with the earth, where your food comes from. You appreciate the food a little bit more.”
Margaret Morgan started Eco City Farms. She thinks of them as places where people can learn to live healthier lives. “Growing food in a community brings people together,”she continues. “Every piece of what we do here is a demonstration(范例) to show people everything about how to have an eco-friendly community,” she says. From the Eco City Farms people come to know that they are not only growing food and raising chickens and bees, but improving the soil with compost(混合肥料) made from food waste.
Eco City Farms are an experimental operation. The farm gets its power not from the local electricity networks, but from the sun with solar panels(板). In winter, the green-houses use a geothermal(地热的) system.
Vegetables can be grown all year round. So once a week, all winter long, neighbours like Chris Moss and her three children bike to the farm to pick up a share of the harvest.
“I like eating the vegetables,” says five-year-old Owen Moss.

根据第三、四段所使用的语言“…the farm has attracted volunteers…”和“From the Eco City Farms people come to know…”
根据第二段第一、二句“…are located near shopping centres, car repair shops and homes. The neighbourhood is a working-class community.”
根据第三段倒数第二句中的“…connect with the earth…”,第四段最后一句中的“…improving the soil with compost(混合肥料) made from food waste.”及第五段中的“…from the sun with solar panels(板). In winter, the greenhouses use a geothermal(地热的) system.”

故C项“In order to survive, they have to work or beg.(为了生存,他们必须工作或乞讨。)”
F项“Since then it has grown from a small organization to a global movement.(从那时起,它从一个小组织发展成为一个全球性的运动。)”
B项“It has improved children’s concentration in class.(它提高了孩子们在课堂上的注意力。)”
