Listen to a song of the numbers to make students have an impression of numbers.
Show the picture of the song. Teach “how many”. It’s used to ask numbers. Say “Today let’s learn Module 5 Unit 1 How many.” 3. Presentation (1) Lead in. Show the pictures of Part 1. They’re rabbits. Ask “What color? How many? ” Students can answer “Yellow.” Then think about how many rabbits when they are watching the video. (2) Watch. Play the cartoon. Get students to find out the numbers of the rabbits. There are four. (3) Read and spell. Learn the numbers from one to four. Let them know the word “two” has the same sound as the word “too”. The word “four” has the same sound as the word “for”. Stress the pronunciations of letters “th” and “ee”. (4) Match. Match the numbers with the English words to practice their spellings. (5) Lead in. Show the picture of the panda magician. Ask “What can the panda change?” Click on the hat. Students can see the rabbit. So they can answer “rabbits”. Then think about how many when they are watching the video. (6) Watch and find numbers. Watch the dialog of Part 2. Then students answer “eight”. In the end, show the results of the magic show to check the answer. (7) Read and spell. A. Learn the words of “how” and “many”. Let them know the pronunciations of letters “ow” and “a”. Notice we should put the countable plural nouns after “many” and “ how many”. B. Learn the numbers from five to eight. Pay attention to the pronunciations of letters i and e. Give examples of having the same sound. (8) Listen and repeat. Listen to the numbers from one to eight. Then repeat correctly. 4. Practice. (1) Match the numbers with the words to practice the eight numbers. (2) Finish Part 4. (3) Game. A. Show the wheels pointing to different numbers. Students say the number. B. Say number, show fingers. Teacher can play the game with students. C. Work out the math problems. D. One student or the teacher says out the number, then the eight students hold each other. They should follow the number. If you don’t hold others, you are out. (4) Count. A. Show the picture about the white snow. Watch and count how many characters.
