The Santa Cruz Beach Bardwalk is an amusement park with rides and games lcated right n the edge f the Pacific Ocean．Santa Cruz has been knwn as a university twn and a surfing cmmunity since at least 1960．Funded in 1907，it was the first theme park f its kind in Califrnia．The mst famus ride is called the Giant Dipper，a fast ride made f wd that climbs t 70 feet in the air．Many newer rides have bright lights and mdern sund effects，but ever since it was finished in 1924，the Giant Dipper has been the symbl f the park．Other ppular attractins include a castle，water rides，and little cars that kids can drive n a special electric track．There is als a mini glf curse，sprts games，and a huge vide game area that lks like a palace in the sky．Ht dgs，hamburgers，ice cream，and cakes f all shapes and sizes give the bardwalk a special feel all year rund．Althugh the park is free t enter，the Santa Cruz Beach Bardwalk des charge fr rides and nearby parking．
