根据第三段第四句“This idea ofappreciating the elderly reverberated(回响) inside myhead until finally, I decided it was time to step up andmake a difference.”和第四段第一句中的“My passionfor writing led me to create an organization, where peoplefrom all across the globe send letters filled with kindnessand joy”可知,出于对老人的感激以及对写作的热爱,作者决定建立一个组织,收集来自世界各地的带有善意和祝福的信件,然后将信送到老人们的手中。
根据最后一段倒数第二句“Thank you somuch to KindSpring for this amazing opportunity.” 故选A。
根据第二段第一句“Gaolou Mixian uses rice paste (米糊) to glue together selected grains of transparent rice to create realistic figures or structures.(高楼米线用米糊把精选的透明米粒粘在一起,创造出逼真的人物或结构)”可知,高楼米线是用米糊粘大米制作的手工艺品,主要是由大米制成。
根据第三段最后一句“Due to various historical reasons, most people in Gaolou village did not pass down the art form, which caused it to disappear nearly 70 years ago.(由于各种历史原因,高楼村的大多数人都没有把这门艺术传承下去,导致它在近70年前消失了)”可知,高楼米线由于无人传承,最终消失了。结合划线词所在句“Chen found out about this after hearing one former resident express disappointment about its loss.(陈是在听到一名前居民对失去它感到失望后才知道的)”和指代关系可推知,指示代词this指代的是上文中高楼米线这种艺术形式的消失。故选A项。
根据文章最后一句话“To avoid being the last inheritor (传承者), Chen has been giving classes to some students at a primary school in Fuzhou with the support of local education authorities.(为了避免成为最后一名继承人,在当地教育部门的支持下,陈一直在福州一所小学给一些学生上课)”可知,为了培养更多的继承者,陈在给小学生上课。
通读全文,并结合文章第一段“Nobody ever imagined that after being lost for more than half a century, the intangible cultural heritage known as Gaolou Mixian would be restored and passed down by a young man.(谁也没有想到,失去半个多世纪的非物质文化遗产——高楼米线,会被一个年轻人修复并传承下去)”可知,文章介绍了非物质文化遗产——高楼米线,以及年轻人陈国锐为传承和发扬这一艺术所做的努力。所以“A Long-lost Chinese Art Form and its Restoration.(失传已久的中国艺术形式及其复新)”是最佳标题。
根据第二段的内容,尤其是“The FDA has stated that cloned animal products are safe for consumption, and has performed many studies to support this view.”FDA已经声明克隆动物产品是安全的,并进行了许多研究来支持这一观点,可知,FDA认为克隆动物产品在很多方面被证明是安全的,所以允许食用克隆动物产品。
由第四段的第二句“Making a clone needs hard work and is very costly.”
由最后一段内容,尤其是“If the FDA does not make labeling (贴标签)laws, people may not be able to make informed choices about their food.”
36.E 根据段落主题句“Keep your vision and goals in mind”可知,本段主要讲的是要明确目标。
37.B 根据下文中的“If you have 20 tasks to do every day”和“You need to break themdown”“Focus on only doing 2—3 important tasks at a time”可知,要把任务分类,一次只做两三件重要的任务。
38.C 根据空后的“you become discouraged because the goal is too big”可知,目标过大很容易灰心丧气;再根据该段尾句“Instead, focus on doing a very small, minimum amount ofwork”可知,本段主要讲的是要集中注意力做非常小的工作,C项“每次专注于你工作中最小的部分”可以概括全段。
39.F 空格前的“Thus, you become discouraged because the goal is too big. Or you fantasizeabout what it’ll feel like when you achieve the goal”提出了因为目标太大而变得沮丧和幻想实现目标后的感受两种情况,所以F项“这两者对你的注意力都不好,并且总是潜在的问题”能够承接上文,F选项中的Either指两种情况中的任何一种。
40.G 根据段首句“Do those tasks as soon as possible”可知,要尽早完成任务;再根据空格前的“as soon as you wake up,you should start plotting how to do them”可知,一起床就要想着怎么做,故可推知空处应说拖延的坏处,G项“等到以后再做,只会让你分神”符合语境。

We took tour buses to the destination,Fuxing Village. In the morning, we visited a well-preserved ancientarchitectural complex, which attracted tens of thousands ofvisitors. We also took a walk around the villagers’ livingareas. In the afternoon, we went sightseeing to the greencorridor of the village. It was there that we learned aboutmodern agriculture, for which villagers get rich day by day.
The tour helps me feel the great changes of thecountryside and the greatness of our country. I love thelively countryside and I do hope I can join the forces of ruralconstruction one day.

She had to work with a human translator to help him communicate with those who didn’t know sign language, and it stuck with her. After leaving the laboratory, she began to think if she could invent a device that could translate American Sign Language into spoken English. She talked it with her good friend Sarvnaz Ale Mohammad. Her friend showed a great interest and the two got down to work. They signed up for an online eight-week machine learning course designed by Stanford University. They also turned to local university professors who directed them to more resources. The teens also reached out to people they knew who used American Sign Language to ask them about their preferences. With great efforts, they invented a device for deaf people to wear on their hands. Because of the device, in August 2020, the girls won a competition and took home$5,000. They earned$10,000 a year later when they won a national competition. The teens say they hope to use the money to continue experimenting with the device.
