Anther way that fuel cnsumptin is cut is by a system f “regenerative braking (刹车)”. The electric mtr is used t slw dwn the car, rather than cnventinal brakes. The energy prduced by the slwing car is transfrmed int electrical pwer, which is autmatically stred in the battery. In effect, the battery recharges when yu brake. In cnventinal cars the energy prduced when the cars are braking is wasted.
Car manufacturers and engineers have been experimenting with electric and hybrid cars since the late 19th century. In 1898 Ferdinand Prsche built an experimental hybrid car that used bth an internal burning engine and electric mtrs.
