On your journey, there are some healthy active transport options, for example cycling.
Active transport benefits
* It’s a convenient and practical way to incorporate (并入) regular exercise into your day.
* Cycling to your stop or station helps to reduce your carbon footprint.
* The cost of buying and maintaining a bicycle is around 1% of the cost of buying and maintaining a car.
* It provides an opportunity to socialize with people in your local community.
* Cycling provides commuters (通勤者) with economical and efficient access to public transport services. On average, 10 times more households are within cycling distance of public transport than they are within walking distance.
Taking your bike on the train
You can take your bike on the train on weekdays, except during the following peak times:
* 7 a.m.-9:30 a.m. towards the CBD (Central Business District);
* 3 p.m.-6:30 p. m. outwards from the CBD;
* at any time during weekends and public holidays.
Note: You can travel in the opposite direction during the specified peak times above.
To avoid travelling during peak times, you must complete your morning journey by 7 a.m. towards the CBD and afternoon journey by 3 p.m. outwards from the CBD.
During peak hours, bikes cannot be brought through Fortitude Valley, Central or Roma Street stations. If you travel with a bike during peak times, you may be asked to leave the train until peak time ends.
Bike storage facilities
Bike facilities offer greater flexibility as you can cycle to a station and securely park your bike before continuing your journey on public transport. All eyes were on Jack Ma. The chairman of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd stepped down on Teachers’ Day from leading the e-commerce giant he founded 20 years ago.
“I still have lots of dreams to go after,” Ma wrote in an open letter last year to announce his parting. “The world is big, and I am still young, so I want to try new things.”
The 55-year-old businessman showed that he was ready for new things by arriving at his farewell party dressed up like a rock star.
In fact, his rags-to-riches story is a good example of doing something different. Visiting the United States in 1995, Ma saw the internet and had the idea of setting up his own trading website. In 1999, he founded Alibaba with a group of friends in a shared apartment, struggling for years to get it off the ground. With all the challenges, the company slowly brought e-commerce to China.
Although his success has inspired a number of Chinese tech businessmen, Ma pointed out that the key is having a dream. “It’s the dreams that keep us never afraid of setbacks,” Ma said in a video posted on Sept 9. Now the experienced businessman is looking to focus on education. What can he offer? “I don’t want to teach English; I don’t want to teach business. But I want to teach young people how to face challenges,” he told Bloomberg News. Skilled sailors were never made on calm waters.
As Ma said, “Today is cruel. Tomorrow is crueler. But the day after tomorrow is beautiful.”
5. Why did Jack Ma attract all the attention on Teachers’ Day in 2019?
A. He led the Alibaba Group to celebrate the Teachers’ Day.
B. He would become the former chairman of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.
C. He and a group of friends founded Alibaba Group 20 years ago.
D. He gave a special show dressed up like a rock star.

B. He will be a rock star.
C. He will continue to be a businessman.
D. He will try something new related to education.
7. Which statement about Jack Ma is NOT true according to the passage?
A. Ma’s success lies in pursuing his dream and making great effort.
B. Jack Ma was worried about the future of education in China.
C. Jack Ma always wants to challenge himself in new fields.
D. Jack Ma would like to encourage young people to overcome difficulties.

Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid is used to grilling guests on the sofa every morning, but she is cooking up a storm in her latest role — showing families how to prepare delicious and nutritious meals on a tight budget.
In Save Money: Good Food, she visits a different home each week and with the help of chef Matt Tebbutt offers top tips on how to reduce food waste, while preparing recipes for under £5 per family a day. With food our biggest weekly household expense, Susanna and Matt spend time with a different family each week. Does happiness have a scent?
When someone is happy, can you smell it?
You can usually tell when someone is happy based on seeing them smile, heating them laugh or perhps from receiving a big hug. But can you also smell their happiness?
Surprising new research suggests that happiness does indeed have a scent, and that the experience of happiness can be transmitted through smell, reports Phys.org.
For the study, 12 young men were shown videos meant to bring about a variety of emotions while researchers gathered sweat samples from them. All of the men were healthy and none of them were drug users or smokers, and all were asked to abstain from drinking or eating smelly foods during the study period.
Those sweat samples were then given to 36 equally healthy young women to smell, while researchers monitored their reactions. Only women were selected to smell the samples, apparently because previous research has shown that women have a better sense of smell than men and are also more sensitive to emotional signaling—though it's unclear why only men were chosen to produce the scents.
Researchers found that the behavior of the women after smelling the scents--particularly their facial expressions--indicated a relationship between the emotional states of the men who produced the sweat and the women who sniffed them.
"Human sweat produced when a person is happy brings about a state similar to happiness in somebody who breathes this smell," said study co-author Gun Semin, a professor at Koc University in Turkey.
This is a fascinating finding because it not only means that happiness does have a scent, but that the scent is capable of transmitting the emotion to others. The study also found that other emotions, such as fear, seem to carry a scent too. This ensures previous research suggesting that some negative emotions have a smell, but it is the first time this has proved to be true of positive feelings.
Researchers have yet to isolate(分离) exactly what the chemical compound for the happiness smell is, but you might imagine what the potential applications for such a finding could be. Happiness perfumes, for instance, could be invented. Scent therapies (香味疗法) could also be developed to help people through depression or anxiety.
Perhaps the most surprising result of the study, however, is our broadened understanding of how emotions get communicated, and also how our own emotions are potentially managed through our social context and the emotional states of those around us.
12. What is the main finding of the new research?
A. Men produce more sweats.
B. Negative emotions have a smell.
C. Pleasant feelings can be smelt out.
D. Women have a better sense of smell.
13. The underlined part "abstain from" in Paragraph 3 probably means _______.
A. Avoid B. practice C. continue D. try
14. What is the application value of the new research?
A. Perfumes could help people understand each other.
B. Some smells could be developed to better our mood.
C. Perfumes could be produced to cure physical diseases.
D. Some smells could be created to improve our appearance.
15. We can learn from the last paragraph that_______.
A.happiness comes from a scent of sweat
B. positive energy can deepen understanding
C. people need more emotional communication
D. social surroundings can influence our emotions

While 45 (regular) eating out seems to 46 (become) common for many young people in recent years, it’s not without a cost.
