    T: Whats the video about?

    S: Its about the US.

    T: What can you see in the video about the US?

    S: New York, Hollywood.

    T: What do you think of Hollywood?

    S: Its very interesting.

    T: Yes, we can see many famous stars there. Do you want to visit Hollywood?

    S: Yes, I do.

    T: What would you like to know before you visit the US?

    S: The weather.

    T: I want to know when the best time to visit the US? Can you guess?

    S: In september

    T:Maybe. Today well learn new passage. Whats the title of the passage?

    S: When is the best time to visit the US?

    T: Lets read the passage and check the answer.

    Step 2: Lead in

    T: Well done. If we visit the US, what should we bring?

    S: A map.

    T: Why?

    S: Tell us where are the places.

    T: Yes, the map can show us the way. Is the map important or not important?

    S: Its very important.

    T: Lets look at the map of the US.

    T: How big is it?

    S: Its about 3000miles from the east coast to the west coast.

    T: There are three oceans around the US. What are they?

    T: There are many places in the US. What are they?

    Students read and circle the places in the passage.

    T: Where are they? Find them on the map.

    S: Washington DC is the capital of the US. California is on the Pacific Ocean. Seattle is in the northwest. Texas is in the southeast. Alaska is in the northwest.

    T: Wow. So clever girl. Lets follow the writer to visit the US.

    S: Yes, I do. Because I can play with snow.

    T: Me too. I like making snowman. How is the weather?

    S: There is a lot of snow in winter.

    S: The best time to visit New England is in September. It gets cooler.

    S: The best time to visit Texas and the southeast is in spring and winter.

    T: What should I bring?

    S: You should bring swimming clothes. Because you can swim in the sea.

    S1: In New England, I should bring camera. Because I can take photos of the autumn trees.

    Step 4: Discuss in a group.

    Students look at the map of places and say why the writer introduces these places in this order.

    T: Why does the writer introduce these places in this order?

    S1: Because Washington DC is the capital of the US. It is the most popular place.

    S2: Because their location.

    T: Yes, the writer may introduce the most popular place to the least popular place.

    Step 5: Talk about your favorite place to visit.

    Students talk about their favorite place to visit.

    T: If you have a chance to visit the US, when and where might you go?

    S1: If I have a chance to visit the US. I will visit California. The best time to visit is all year round. The weather is fine all year round. I will bring swimming clothes, because I can swim in the sea.

    S2: If I have a chance to visit the US. I will visit Seattle. There is not cold but it rains a lot. I will bring an umbrella. I like cold weather.

    Step 6: Work in groups (Give advice to Betty).

    Students work in groups. Four students a group. Student one introduces beginning and ending. Student two introduces one place. Student three introduces one place. Student four introduces one place. Then combine their writings to report.

    T: Betty's parents are going to China. She wants to take them to visit some cities in China. Can you give her some advice?

    What's the weather like?

    What things should she bring?

    Step 7: Homework

    Level A:

    Write a passage to introduce one place of the US.

    教学反思

    首先要感谢我们十五中的教研组长胡巧云老师,八年级备课组长叶冬初老师,陈丽智老师,还有很多其他学校及本校老师的帮助与指点。因为有你们的帮助和指点,才能有这节课的精彩设计。这节课是大家集体智慧的结晶。教学设计非常的精彩。

    对于自身课堂教学的思考有以下几点:第一,对于学生的学情和课堂的预设不够,没有深入分析学生的实际情况和课堂中所会出现的问题,或者学生知识输出过程中出现的新词,应该马上进行处理。在课堂教学中学生说出赤道。我应该将新词做出说明,英语读音是什么?Equator。及时增加学生的词汇量。并对学生进行评价。第二,对学生的把控太严,学生的输出量不够,就进入下一环节。由于自己限于教学设计太深,有种思想就是要将学生控制在自己的可控范围之内,所以没有将学生的思维真正的发散出来,学生的思想没有得到发展和展现。第三,时间的把握分配没有做好规划,对于整堂课,我没有做好全面的规划,其实要抓住课堂的轻重环节,再将时间进行调配。重要的环节我就要花多点时间,让学生将他们的思想进行多方面的呈现。如果从整堂课考虑,如果环节太多,明知道一节课上不完的,就要大胆砍掉不必要的环节,抓住有必要的环节,并有时间对学生进行思维的培养,思想的发散,这样的课堂才会精彩。如果胡子眉毛一把抓就没有重点可言。每个环节就是走个过场,没有多余时间让他们进行思考,就不可取。在第三个环节细节题中,有一个发散性的问题,问:When is the best time to visit the US? Any time you like.为什么是any time you like呢?这个问题也可以让学生们进行大量的想法输出。在第四个环节中问:作者为什么用这样的顺序介绍这些地址?这是一个深入的问题,我也没有让学生进行精彩的呈现,就结束了这一环节。有些不足。对于最后的环节:给Betty提出一些建议,到哪些城市旅游?该带什么?天气怎样?由于时间关系,也只能呈现一组,而且还是拖堂。所以对于课堂的时间把握还要注意。第四,板书设计太过随意。板书设计是对整堂课重要知识点的呈现,是非常重要的。我就随意的写了几个单词because, so, but。所以在以后的课堂设计中我也要注重板书的设计。第五,对于阅读教材的处理还要多思考,阅读课的教学应该抓住的重点是什么,阅读课要注重培养学生思维的品质,让学生们能进行深入的思考,思想的输出。而不仅仅是教授知识。更多的是教会学生阅读的技能,方法,策略。以及对学生思维的提升。阅读课教会的是学生的阅读能力,并能在离开教师的指导后,也能具备阅读的能力,思考的能力,解决问题的能力。

    针对自身所存在的不足,我要多专研教材,教师用书,教学大纲,多向学校优秀的前辈和老师学习。在今后的教学中我要不断反思,不断探讨,不断专研新的问题。学习之路漫长,但我有一颗学习之心,进取之心,永不放弃之心。我希望自己在学习之路上不断前行。希望学校的各位同仁能多多指出我的不足。
