Unit 2 　Travelling around Writing

本单元的写作项目属于说明文体类别中的“说明旅行计划类”的书信，这种题目要求我们针对旅行的地点，时间和出行方式等进行准确的描述，学生应该注意描述的重点和顺序。在写作过程中力争做到：紧扣主题；句子结构完整；信息内容准确；篇章结构连贯。

一、基本框架

(一)Para.Ⅰ开头(beginning)——突出重点，开门见山，直接描述旅行的主要目的。

(二)Para.Ⅱ——介绍旅行中的其他计划和安排。

(三)Para.Ⅲ——交代出行方式及原因。

(四)Para.Ⅳ——总结此次旅行的心得体会。

二、注意事项

(一)明确写作对象

地点介绍类说明文是以介绍地点的基本特征、以说明文为主要表达方式的文章。说明的对象就是说明文介绍的具体事物。一般来说，说明对象可以从题目中确定。说明对象的确定，是写作说明文的第一步。

(二)确定介绍说明的内容和重点

写作地点介绍类说明文既要抓住所介绍地点的基本特征，即命题要求中所列的基本要求，又要选择该地点突出的特征重点介绍，这样才能使文章既要点清晰又重点突出。

(三)合理安排说明顺序

地点介绍类说明文介绍顺序的安排可依据说明对象的特征来决定。一般来说，可采用由外向内、从上到下、由远及近等空间顺序进行说明。只有写作时遵循一定的说明顺序，才能使文章条理清楚，中心突出。

(四)语言运用准确无误

遣词造句不可过分渲染，要简洁明了，尤其要注意方位词的准确运用。在写作过程中，要灵活运用语言，不能机械地翻译命题要求。另外，应尽量选择地道的、高级的表达方式。同时，要尽量避免低级错误的出现。

I was born in Nottinghamshire and was the third of five sons.My father was not a rich man，but he was able to send me to Cambridge University，where I studied for three years.When I left college，I continued my studies and became a doctor.But I always wanted to travel，and so I made several voyages as a ship's doctor.When I married my wife Mary，however，I planned to stay at home for a while.But after a few years I discovered I was not earning enough money from my patients.I decided to go to sea again，and this time I joined a ship sailing to the islands in the South Pacific Ocean.We started our journey from Bristol on May 4th,1699.

At first our voyage went well.We sailed across the Atlantic，round the coast of Africa and into the Indian Ocean.But before we could reach the Pacific，a violent storm hit us and drove us to the north­west of Tasmania.The wind drove our ship on to a rock，which broke the ship in half.Some of the sailors and I managed to get a boat into the water，and we rowed away to look for land.But when we were too tired to row any more，a great wave hit our small boat，and we all fell into the sea.I do not know what happened to my companions，but I suppose they were all drowned[1]．

The wind and waves pushed me along as I struggled to keep my head above water[2]．I became very tired and soon felt I could not swim any more.Luckily，just then my feet touched the ground.I walked out of the sea and on to a beach，where there was no sign of any people or houses.I was so exhausted that I lay down and went to sleep.
