Some people have a very poor sense of direction. Unluckily, I am one of them. I have visited a place many times but I may still get lost there the next time.
When I was a little girl, I never dared to ask strangers the way. And so I used to walk round in circle and hope that by chance I would get to the place I was going to.
Now, I am no longer too shy to ask people for directions, but I often receive helpless or even wrong information. So I try to avoid giving people wrong directions. If anyone asks me the way somewhere, I would say, "Sorry, I am a stranger here. "
Once on my way to work I was stopped by a man. He asked me if I could tell him the way to the Friendship Building. I gave him my usual reply. But just as I walked on only a few steps, I realized that he had asked the way to my office building. However, I had no time to turn back and look for him. I was rushing to meet with someone at my office and I didn't want to keep him waiting.

Maybe you are an ordinary student with ordinary intelligence. You probably think you will never be a top student. However, anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. It is true that you may not be interested in everything that you study, but by using your time well you may improve your grades without additional work. Here's how:
First, plan your time carefully. When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do, or you may forget to leave enough time to complete an important task. After making the list, you should make a schedule of your time.
Second, find a good place to study. Look around the house for a good study area. Keep this space, which may be a desk or simply a comer of your room, free of everything but study materials. No games, mobile phones, or television! If you can't find such a place at home, find a quiet library where you can study.
Third, make good use of your time in class. Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teacher says. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says.
Fourth, study regularly. When you get home, go over your notes. Look back to the important points that your teacher mentioned in class. If you know what your teacher is going to discuss the next day, look through and read that material too. This will help you understand the next class better.
At last, develop a good attitude(态度) about exams. The purpose(目的) of an exam is to show what you have learned about a subject. If you don't pass an exam, don't get too worried.
Exams do more than just provide grades; they let you know what you need to study more.
There are other ways that might help you with your studies. You will probably discover many others after you have tried these.

Mobile phones are one of the most useful inventions of the last 50 years, but not everything that is said about them is good. Mobiles are often believed to be the cause of a number of things from poor eyesight and headaches to house fires. There's even one theory that mobile phones should be responsible for the disappearance of bees!
The theory is that the radiation (辐射) given off by mobile phones does great harm to bees' navigation systems (导航系统). Bees have built-in system a bit like GPS and this helps them find their way back to their hives. But recently, thousands of bees have failed to find their way home. It is believed they are dying far from their hives.
The problem was first noticed by beekeepers in America and is a lot more serious than it at first seems. The important thing about bees is that most of the crops in many countries of the world are pollinated by them. Without bees, the crops can't continue to grow. Many beekeepers in Europe have reported losing between 50 and 70 percent of their bees. Jim Piper, London beekeeper, said to the reporter, "My business is becoming worse. Twenty-nine of my forty hives are now empty."
Nobody knows for sure whether the theory is true or not, but it's a fact that bees are disappearing in very large numbers. And we can't manage without them. Einstein said that if all our bees disappeared, man would only live for four more years! If the mobile phone theory is correct, we need to do something about it right now—before it's too late.
41 What might be caused by mobiles according to Paragraph 1?
A. Poor listening. B. The forest fires. C. The disappearance of bees. D. Terrible toothache.
42. What does the theory in the passage say?
A. Bees have GPS inside their bodies. B. Mobiles have an influence on bees' hives.
C. The radiation makes bees unable to fly. D. The radiation makes bees lose their way home.
43. The underlined word "pollinate" probably means "________" in Chinese.
A. 授粉 B. 污染 C. 啃食 D. 催熟
44. What does Paragraph 3 mainly tell us?
A. Crops will stop growing. B. Beekeepers' business is getting worse.
C. Bees' disappearing is a serious problem. D. Beekeepers in Europe found the problem first.
45. The author wrote this passage to ________.
A. call on people to help beekeepers B. show how a bee's built-in system works
C. ask people to stop using mobiles right away D. warn people of the possible harm mobiles do to bees

With most people staying at home due to COVID - 19, livestreaming (直播) has become more and more popular. It is not only enjoyable, but has also provided a new stage for traditional culture artists.
On video sites (网站) and apps such as Douyin and Bilibili, many traditional artists are trying livestreaming for the first time. Some of them sing Peking- Opera, some show their artworks, while others perform calligraphy (书法) or classical Chinese music.
Li Jun is a laosheng (old male role) Peking opera performer from the Shanghai Jingju Theater Company. During the outbreak, the 59 - year - old started livestreaming for the first time.
Unlike performing on a theater stage, Li uses everyday places as his stage, including his backyard, study room, and even a treadmill (跑步机). Besides singing, li also teaches viewers about Peking Opera in a humorous way.
"Livestreaming has brought this elegant (高雅的) art down to earth, "one viewer said.
"It allows young people to have easier chances to this traditional art and learn more about it. "Up to now li has more than 6, 000 fans on Douyin, while one of his videos has received 42,000 views on Bilibili.
Other kinds of artists also see livestreaming as a new opportunity. On March 26th the thirdChina Huafu Day, Bilibili livestreamed a fashion show. Performers presented beautiful clothes intraditional Chinese styles, including those from the Wei, Tang and Ming dynasties. During theshow viewers not only enjoyed seeing the clothes but also watched how performers used ancientstyles of make-up. For example, one blogger taught people how to draw the guiye eyebrow (桂叶眉), which was a typical make -up style during the Tang Dynasty.
