Period 3 (Section B 1a-1d)设计说明 播放不同风格的歌曲片段导入本课的学习。歌曲和歌星是学生喜欢的话题,使用本课时的目标语言由这个话题展开,不仅能激发学生的好奇心与参与热情,为下面的听说做好铺垫,而且还能引导教育学生如何正确地享受音乐,不可盲目追星。活动1b-1c主要让学生通过听获取细节信息。在听力活动的过程中,要把培养学生记录关键信息的教学策略融入完成任务的过程中。然后是基于听力活动基础上的语言输出,通过大量地练习,进一步巩固有关音乐话题的讨论。活动1d可留作作业,下节课时汇报调查结果。教学目标 1. 知识目标 (1)掌握单词:pop,rock,band。 (2)掌握句型:①Have you heard of them yet? ②But they’ve already made two CDs. ③The Toms must be popular. ④ The Toms’ music sounds more like rock. ⑤Listening to The Toms is a good way to wake up. 2. 能力目标 (1)会用英语谈论自己的音乐喜好及原因。 (2)学会边听录音边记录关键信息。 3. 情感目标 了解音乐类型,培养音乐素养。重点难点 1. 重点: (1)使用目标语言谈论最近听过的音乐。 (2)用英语谈论自己的音乐喜好及原因。 2. 难点: 用英语谈论自己的音乐喜好及原因。教学准备 多媒体课件,录音机,磁带。教学过程 Step 1 Revision and Leading in 1. Translate the following phrases into Chinese or English. arrive on this island 到达这个岛 make a boat 造一艘船 带回来 bring back 放弃 give up wait for 等待 cut down 砍倒 跑向 run towards 2. Play different kinds of music,and then ask students: Have you heard of the music/song? What kind of music is it? How does it make you feel? Who sang it? Do you like him/her/the band...? Who’s your favorite singer or musician? Why do you like his/her/their music? While talking,teach the new words:pop,rock,band. Step 2 Listening 1. Work on 1b. (1)Before playing the recording,explain to students that the conversation is between Alex and Dave,and it will be about a music group called The Toms. (2)Ask students to read through the information that they are supposed to listen for in the conversation. Make sure students understand the meaning of each sentence. This will help them be more focused on what they are listening for. (3)Play the recording. Students listen and write A for Alex and D for Dave next to each opinion. (4)Check the answers. Answers:(自上而下)DDAD 2. Work on 1c. (1)Ask students to fill in their answers based on what they remember. (2)Play the recording again and ask students to fill in their answers again. (3)Check the answers. Have students compare their first answers with their second ones. It is likely that those who had been taking notes in the whole conversation (from the first time the recording was played)will be far better than those who were just listening to pick out information. Dave:He thinks that listening to their music every morning will wake him up and make him happy for the rest of the day. Step 3 Practice 1. Ask and answer about the chart of 1c. (1)A:What’s the name of the band? B:The band is called“The Toms”. /Its name is“The Toms”. (2)A:Which country are they from? B:They are from California,in the United States. (3)A:How many people are there in the band? B:There are five people in the band. (4)A:What kind of music are they playing? B:They are playing pop music,but it sounds more like rock. (5)A:Why does Alex like to listen to this band? B:Because their music is loud and full of energy. He feels excited when he listens to their music. (6)A:Why does Dave like to listen to this band? B:Because Dave thinks listening to their music every morning will wake him up and make him happy for the rest of the day. 2. Complete the passage according to the conversation between Alex and Dave. Alex is listening to music. Dave thinks the song sounds really good. Alex tells him that the band is called“The Toms”. Dave hasn’t heard of them. Alex says they are a new band but they’ve already made two CDs. Dave thinks they must be really popular. They’re from California,in the United States. There are five people in the band and they’re all teenage boys. They’re playing pop music,but it sounds more like rock. Alex likes their music because it’s loud and full of energy. He feels excited when he listens to it. Step 4 Give a report(Work on 1d) 1. List some kinds of music,and then ask and answer like this: A:What kind of music do you like? B:I like country music. A:Why do you like it? B:Because it is so gentle and relaxing. And it makes me feel relaxed. 2. Report. Get the students to ask their friends what kind of music they listen to and why. How does the music make them feel? T:I know some of you like reading,some like listening to music,some like watching movies. So which book,song or movie do you think is the best one? Ss:... T:Have a conversation with your partner and take notes in the Chart in 1d. Then make a report. Report: My friend...likes...music,because it is...It makes him/her feel... Step 5 Cooperative inquiry Discuss the following language points in groups and fill in the blanks. 1. Have you heard of them yet? 你听说过他们吗?hear意为“听见”What were you doing when you heard the event?当你听到那件事时你在做什么?hear from意为“收到”,后跟sb. Have you heard from Tom?你收到汤姆的来信了吗?hear of/about意为“听说”,后跟sth./sb. Have you heard of/about the Great Wall? 你听说过长城吗? 2. The Toms must be popular. 汤姆乐队一定很受欢迎。 此句中情态动词must的意思是“一定”,表示推测,暗含可能性很大。 —Where is your father? 你爸爸在哪里? —I think he must be in his office. 我想他一定在他的办公室里。 3. Listening to The Toms is a good way to wake up. 听汤姆乐队的音乐是让人醒来的一个好办法。 listening to The Toms是动名词短语作主语,谓语动词用第三人称单数。 Reading in the sun is bad for your eyes. 在阳光下看书对眼睛有害。 Step 6 Summary In this lesson,we have learned: 1.
