专题09 阅读理解精练精析20篇(期末真题+名校模拟)
一、正确的阅读题解题步骤:读题、定位、分析
1)读题 (题目中定关键词)
关键词是

(2022·广东·深圳市南山外国语学校九年级期末)Dolphins are air-breathing animals that live in the sea. But how do they sleep? If they stop swimming to get some sleep, will they sink and drown? Giraffes have almost no deep sleep. Do they feel tired?
Scientists studying seals and dolphins have made a surprising discover—these animals can sleep with one half of their brain while the other half stays awake! While the right half of the dolphin’s brain is asleep, the left half stays awake enough to control its body. This lets the dolphin keep its nose above the water so it can breathe. After about 20 minutes, two sides exchange, allowing the other half of the dolphin’s brain to sleep.
Some far-travelling ocean birds can rest half of their brain at a time while the other half keeps awake. Arctic terns(北极燕鸥)use this skill when they fly non-stop from Canada to Antarctica. Frigate birds(军舰鸟)have another skill. They have tiny half-minute naps as they fly on air currents over the ocean-fly, nap, fly, nap. They don’t get much sleep this way-when they land, they sleep a lot to make up for it.
Ducks don’t get all their sleeping at once. They nap throughout the day. When ducks nap in a row, the ones at either end rest only half their brain and keep one eye open. If anything dangerous alarms the guard ducks, they quack, waking up the other ducks to seek safety. A guard duck sometimes turns around and faces the other way to rest the other half of its brain.
Giraffes don’t get very much sleep—only a few hours a day. Sleeping is embarrassing and leaves them weak to killers. So giraffes mostly take short naps while standing up. But they do need to lie down for half an hour or so of deep, dreaming sleep. It can take a whole minute for a giraffe to get up its long legs.
16.How many animals are mentioned in the passage?
A.Five. B.Six. C.Seven. D.Eight.

John Dunlop, an Englishwoman, writes something about her experience with food from China. Since the COVID-19 broke out in London, cooking has become a way for her to deal with the “endless lockdown(封锁)”. She says she cooks in a very relaxed way, going to the farmers’ market at the weekend to buy seasonal products for everyday cooking—a mixture of Jiangnan, Hunan, Guangdong, and Sichuan dishes.
“For me, there are so many wonderful things about Chinese food. The thing that I find is greatest about it is that you can eat food that is both really delicious and incredibly healthy,” Dunlop says. “The Chinese are experts at cooking vegetables.”

To better understand the context (背景) of the food in Jiangnan, Dunlop started reading Chinese classics like The Dream of the Red Chamber which contained detailed descriptions of dishes in ancient China.
After collecting all the recipes, Dunlop tested them at her home in London to make sure they worked for people in the West.

Is there something in your community that could be changed? Is there a person in your neighborhood who could offer help? If you’re hoping for someone to make a difference, that someone could be you!
Volunteering your time is a great way to make a difference in your community. And you’ll feel good about doing something that helps people or improves the places around you.
This past summer, my friends and I noticed how messy our neighborhood park was. We wanted it to be different. We worked without parents and teachers to clean up the park. We had a great time making the park even better than before, and now the whole neighborhood is able to share and enjoy it again.
Maybe cleaning up a park isn’t your choice, though. No problem! You can turn anything that matters to you into a volunteer project. Do you like playing chess, reading, or spending time with your pet? You can volunteer to do what you love to do. For example, you could help at an old people’s center, simply by talking or playing games with them to make their days better. If you’re great at math or English, you could volunteer to be a homework helper at your school. You’re always needed to walk dogs or play with cats. Or you can collect things for hopeless people, such as soap and toothbrushes.
You see, there is something for everyone. Whatever you do as a volunteer, your time will be enjoyed and that always feels good. Kids everywhere are making a difference by volunteering. You can, too!

Chinese astronauts gave a science lesson from the Tiangong space station to millions of students on Dec 9. The three astronauts, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu, showed life in space and did experiments in microgravity(微重力). It was the first lesson of the Tiangong Class, China’s first extraterrestrial(地球外的)lesson series and it aims to make space science popular.
In the lesson, Ye did experiments which is about cell(细胞)growth in a weightless environment. He compared the growth and shape of cells in artificial gravity and zero—gravity to study their changing rules and mechanisms(机制)in space. This was not the first time that China has tried to grow plants in space. As early as 2016, Chinese scientists grew rice on the Tiangong II space lab to study how plants grow without an Earth—like environment.
Another experiment in the space lesson was shown by Wang Yaping. She showed how a paper flower “bloomed”on the surface of water in Tiangong space station. She explained that the surface tension on Earth is that some insects can “walk” on water. They use surface tension to “stand” instead of falling through water.
Surface tension plays a key role in product development. Researchers around the world are measuring surface tension to improve the quality of their products. Paints are cut to stick better on the surfaces they are applied to. Surface tension also has influence in drug development.

(2022·河南新乡·九年级期末)One day a farmer’s donkey fell down a well. The animal cried for hours as the farmer tried to find a way to get it out. Finally, he decided to give up the animal, because it was old, and the well needed to be covered up.
He invited all of his neighbors to come over and help him. They all began to fill the well with dirt. The donkey realized what was happening and began to cry. Then, to everyone’s surprise, it became quiet.
A few minutes later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was surprised at what he saw. With each shovel of the dirt that hit its back, the donkey shook it off and took a step up.
As the farmer’s neighbors went on to shovel dirt on top to the animal, he still shook it off and took a step up. Pretty soon, the donkey happily got out.

(2022·河南·中牟县教育体育局教学研究室九年级期末)Alexis Lewis is a girl from America. She likes to invent—to think of new ideas for things that no one has made before, and then make them.
Alexis often enters competitions for young inventors. When she was younger she spent time with her grandfather, who made transport(运输工具) for people to go to space. One day Alexis’ mother told her about a newspaper article which explained how difficult it was to get sick people through the countryside to hospital in Africa. Alexis wanted to help.
Alexis knew that in North America, before there were cars, horses pulled heavy things on a travois(旧式雪橇), made of wood. Alexis thought people could do the same, but she added wheels. To make her travois light, she used bamboo, a plant that grows in Africa, not wood.
To pull Alexis’ travois, you wear a belt(腰带), which means you can carry or hold other things. Alexis thought her travois was ideal for carrying food home from the market, as well as taking people to hospital. After it was finished, she wrote instructions for building one so people in Africa could make it themselves.
With help from U.S.companies(公司), Alexis gave some free travois to hospitals in Africa. She didn’t ask them for money because they were for poor people.
Alexis doesn’t know if she wants to be an inventor when she’s older, because she also likes music and writing, but she thinks it’s important for children to learn about inventing at school.

(2022·河南·三门峡市陕州区教育体育局教学研究室九年级期末)People in many parts of North and South America will be e able to see a total lunar eclipse (月食) on Sunday night and early Monday morning. The eclipse this weekend is special, and it is called a super blood wolf moon by some people.
The moon will be a little closer than it normally is to the Earth. For this reason, it will appear brighter than usual. Such a moon has come to be called a supermoon. When the moon is completely eclipsed, it looks darker and appears to have an orange or even a red color. The sunset on the Earth looks orange for a similar reason. Because of its reddish color, an eclipsed moon is sometimes called a blood moon.
In North America, there are traditional names given to each of the 12 full moons that happen throughout the year. January’s full moon is known as the wolf moon or the great spirit moon.
Is there anything I should get ready when I look up the lunar eclipse?
“There are no precautions(预防措施) you need to take when looking at a lunar eclipse, since the moon is never bright enough to hurt our eyes like the sun,” according to Walter Freeman, a physicist at Syracuse University.

(2022·福建龙岩·九年级期末)Meeting someone for the first time can be embarrassing (尴尬) if you get it wrong. Suppose you are going to meet a person from the UK. Do you know what you should say and do?
A handshake is the most common way to greet someone, especially if you are in a formal situation. However, the type of handshake is important. Your handshake should be confident, but that doesn’t mean you need to crush (挤压) anybody’s fingers. On the other hand. don’t be too weak. It’s always a good idea to smile and make eye contact with the person you are shaking hands with. Lastly take hold of the hand and shake it up and down twice. Don’t hold on for too long.
Hugging and kissing are more informal greetings in the UK. They are usually for friends, family and small children. When meeting someone for the first time, you may not want to use these types of greetings.
In the past, Britons would usually greet strangers with a “How do you do?” Today, this phrase is seen as out-of-date. It’s rarely used. Phrases such as “How are you doing?”and “How are you?” have become more popular. However, when a Briton says “How are you?”to you he or she probably doesn’t expect you to really answer the question. You may just respond with a “How are you?” to him or her.
