Hometown Feeling  教案

Teaching Materials& Students:

The reading material is derived from Unit 10, textbooks for Grade 8 students, published by People’s Education Press. The title is “Hometown feelings”.

The students may have their own memories but they may not have the hometown feelings.

Teaching Objectives:

• Acquire the strategy of getting information from the previous information

• Grasp the logic and the main idea of the passage (division of the passage)

Pre-reading

 Discussion: In group of four, talk about the following questions.

1.Why do they leave their hometown?

2.Can they visit their hometown often?

3.How do they feel when they are away from their hometown?

Predicting:

According to your ideas of the migrant workers, the title and the pictures, predict the main ideas of the text.             

1. To develop an awareness of the migrant worker phenomena.

2. To stimulate interest into the text.

3. To help implement the strategy: predicting according to the previous knowledge.

While-reading

Task 1 Skim the text and figure out the division of the text and fill in the blanks with numbers with displayed main ideas.
