日期的表达方式：按日/月/年 或者月/日/年的顺序。
第一行左上角是日期、星期。右上角写上当天的天气情况，如:sunny, fine, rainy, windy, snwy, cludy等。 1.日期和星期的顺序多是“星期+月、日、年”，也有把星期放在后面的，如“2003年11月22日，星期一”可写为“Mnday Nvember 22, 2003”或“Nvember 22, 2003 Mnday”。星期也可以省略不写。另一种表达法见书上Mary’s diary。2.天气情况必不可少。写在日期之后，位于日记的右上角。
现在进行时：表示说话时正在进行的动作或存在的状态。 be + 动词的ing形式 例：他正在写日记。He is keeping a diary. 吉姆在睡觉。（sleep） 我们正在上英语课。（have English class）
过去时：表示过去某一时间发生的动作或存在的状态。常见的时间状语有last year（去年），yesterday（昨天）in 2003（在2003年）…例：他昨天打扫了教室。 He cleaned the classrm yesterday。 我昨天7点起床。（get up） 我2005年出生在武汉。（brn）
一般将来时：表示一个将要发生的动作或状态。常用语将来时的时间状语有：tmrrw（明天），this afternn（今天下午），next week（下周），next year（明年）… is /am /are / ging t+动词原形 或 will+动词原形例：本周末我要去参观一个古堡。 I am ging t visit an ld castle this weekend. 或者是 I will visit an ld castle this weekend. 他今天下午要和朋友一起踢足球。（play ftball，friend） 我明天要写作业。（d hmewrk）
