Over 5 million shared bikes in China are using services offered by the Beidou Navigation Satellite System (北斗卫星导航系统). These shared bikes all use Beidou-based positioning chips (芯片).
The chips have high qualities. They can deal with information accurately and quickly. They feature low power consumption. They provide a better user experience and easier management for the local companies. Now, several new models of shared electric bikes with Beidou-based chips have also started to be produced and put into the market. Besides positioning and navigation, the chips will help users and bike companies record user speed and battery condition of an electric bike. The possible crimes during the bike using will also be recorded.
In fact, years ago, shared bike companies began to use positioning chips which worked well with both GPS and Beidou services. After the Beidou system became fully in use in the summer of 2020, shared bike companies started installing Beidou-based chips on more bikes in more areas. The latest chips which are popular with bike companies are smaller and have more advantages over the old types.
Since 2000, a total of 59 Beidou satellites have been lifted from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province. After the final satellite was lifted in 2020, the system was completed and started providing global services. Beidou Navigation Satellite System is designed and developed by China and it is one of the four global navigation networks, along with the United States' GPS, Russia's GLONASS and the European Union's Galileo.
According to research in 2022, by the end of 2021, the total value connected with satellite navigation and positioning services in China was 469 billion yuan, about a 16.29-percent increase year-on-year. The Nazca Lines (纳斯卡线条) in Peru are huge pictures that were drawn into the ground by digging shallow (浅的) lines into the earth. An area of about 19 square miles in the Nazca desert is covered by these simple pictures, including birds, spiders, fish and sharks.
Although these lines date back to between 500 BC and 500 AD, they were only discovered in the 1930s. The reason is that the pictures only become clear when they are seen from the air. So it was only when airplanes started flying over the area that people realized what they were.
This leads to the question: how did these pictures get there all those years ago? How could these people have made such drawings without the ability to fly? Jim Woodman suggested that the Nazca people could have invented simple hot-air balloons and used them to produce the art. He even built a working balloon using materials they would have had. Other people suggested the lines might be the work of aliens visiting our Earth. More and more speculations were offered and one of the great modern mysteries was born.
However, some wooden sticks from the same age as the drawings were found in the ground in the area. Some scientists suggested that by placing the sticks in the correct positions and connecting them with long ropes, the Nazca people could have drawn the lines to make the pictures. One scientist, Dr. Joe Nickell was so sure that this was the answer that he decided to try and show how it could be done. Using only the tools that the Nazca people might have had, he set about trying to draw a huge picture of a bird on a piece of land. With a few friends it took him a few hours to produce a perfect Nazca picture and show how these pictures probably got there.
37.What is Paragraph 2 mainly about?

40.What's the best title for the passage?
A. Amazing animals in history
B. The magic power of nature

What's causing global warming? Is it a man-made disaster(灾难)? Or are temperatures simply changing naturally? Whatever the case is, we can at least try to slow things down. But how?
The Nicodemus Wilderness Project suggests that we should plant trees. If the Earth has more trees, greenhouse gases will be reduced. Trees also cut down on water pollution, and provide habitats for wildlife to live in. What's more, they improve human health by producing oxygen(氧气) and improving air quality. In fact, if we plant one tree, just one, it will have lots of benefits for our planet. A tree not only takes in a lot of harmful greenhouse gases over its lifetime, but also produces much oxygen for people. And it provides the cooling effect like an air conditioner does.
In fact, lots of people have already done so. Tree planting is becoming more and more popular as a way to take part in protecting the environment. The Canopy Project planted one million trees in 2010 as part of the AVATAR Home Tree Initiative. In total, trees were planted in 16 countries. In Belgium, the Organization for Forests worked with private land owners to help them plant trees. In Germany, a young man named Felix Finkbeiner has been leading a global movement to plant more trees. He was nine when he came up with the idea of planting trees around the world. And, what can you do to help? Well, you could go to your local garden center and buy a tree, although you'd need to get advice on how to look after it properly so that it can survive(生存). Besides, you can join a tree planting project.
41.According to Paragraph 2, a tree can .
A. cut down on light pollution
B. take in a lot of oxygen
C. provide the cooling effect

Have you ever watched the cloned dinosaurs (克隆恐龙) go wild in the movies? It looks fun in movies, but would be terrible if it happened in the real world. We can do lots of things with today's science and technology. But we also need to be careful about what we shouldn't do. This is called ethics (伦理). We should care about ethics in science to protect people.
On March 20, China released its first guidelines(指导方针) on ethics in science and technology. The hope is that progress in science — especially life science, medicine and AI — will not do harm to human society. What might happen if we don't care about ethics in science? Let's look at three examples.
Ethics and AI
Nowadays there're many fake(假的) videos on the Internet. They were made with AI technology. Such videos are called "deepfakes". If we don't have a limit (限制) on them, they will make the online world full of untruths.
Ethics and gene editing (基因编辑)
Imagine making a baby in a lab with "perfect" genes. It could be healthy, beautiful and smart. Would you make it?
At first, this sounds great! But many questions come with it. For example, who has the right to decide which genes to add or remove(移除)? What if it goes wrong and something bad happens to the baby? Also, if only rich people can use this technology, will there be more inequalities (不平等)?
Ethics and personal data (数据)
Apps on our smartphones collect all kinds of data about our bodies and health. They include how much exercise we do, how much sleep we get and what we eat. But these data, if not well protected, could cause ethical problems. For example, insurance (保险) companies could use the data to decide if customers can get their help. People with "unhealthy" lifestyles may get less help. In job markets, companies could also use these data to learn about your health condition. That may affect whether you get hired (雇用).

I’ll tell you how I improve my study efficiency. I usually make a plan first, and then divide the tasks into different groups according to their importance. I do the most important things first and after a rest, I finish the less important and urgent things. In this way, I pay more attention to important things and make good use of my time and energy. Every time I finish a task, I mark a "√" on the to-do list to make sure I miss nothing.
By doing so, I manage my time more properly and make great progress in my studies, and I even have some free time to enjoy myself.
