    Target language:

    1.The wife told her husband that unless he left the children to die in the forest, the whole family would die.

    2. The weather was so dry that no food would grow.

    3. As soon as the moon rises, we can follow them instead.

    2.Pre-reading

    (1)Finish 2a

    A fairy tale is an old, traditional story. Do you know what these fairy tales are about?

    (2) Talk about three fairy tales.

    (3) Do you know Hansel and Gretel?  What do you know about it?(引出Hansel and Gretel主题)

    (4) Read quickly and answer

    What’s the type of the text in 2b?

    (5)Explain something about play.

    3.While-reading

    (1)Read the text in 2b and answer the questions.

    How many characters are mentioned(提到) in the play?

    Who are they?

    (2) Show the characters in this play.

    (3) Finish 2b

    Read the first paragraph of Hansel and Gretel. Think about how the fairy tale will continue. Then read the rest of the story.

    (4)Read para.1 carefully and fill in the blanks.  

    (5)Divide the seven scenes into several parts.

    (6)Read Part 1(scene1-3) and finish the mind map.

    (7)Read part 2(scene4-6) carefully and answer the questions.

    ①Were their stepmother and father angry to see the children back home?

    ②Does Hansel really want to go out to look at the moon?If not, what does he want to do?

    ③What is Hansel’s second plan? 

    ④Why do Hansel and Gretel get lost the second time?

    ⑤Why do they keep walking?

    教学反思

    This lesson is mainly about reading and writing. It not only trains students reading ability, but also makes students master important knowledge points by learning fairy tales. By retelling the stories they have learned, their oral expression ability and language organization ability are improved. Besides, we must ask the students to find out the text type before reading.

    Through the exercises in 3a and 3b, we can help the students know how to tell and write a story. After class, we can ask them to write a story they are interested in.
