Steve Jobs once said, “Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking.”

What will the future school look like is difficult to make clear, but most experts agree that the school will be electronic in the future.
“Present-day schools will no longer exist in the next century,” says a report in The Age. “At that time, future schools will become community-style centers, which run seven days a week, 24 hours a day.” At the same time, computers will surely become a central part of the school in the future.
According to The Age, the distant learning will be popular and students will listen to teachers on computers. Going into classrooms on their computers, students will study at any time, which is very easy for them. However, it is necessary for students to go to the actual school in order to develop some social skills.
The Seashore Primary School is an imaginary school in the future created by the Education Department of Australia. At this school, all the teachers and students have laptop computers. Teachers check messages and call students back on a special telephone system and students use telephones to search for information or speak to their experts who teach their lessons. Besides, all the lessons are related to all sorts of subjects and all the students have their own learning plans created by teachers.
As one headmaster says, a laptop computer is students' library, data storage as well as the bridge to a wider world. Technology has changed the emphasis of future learning. Thus, we'll pay more attention to the learning of kids rather than the teaching.
28. According to the report in The Age, students in future schools will ________.
A. mainly study online B. study at a set time
C. have no teachers D. never go to actual school
29. The example of the Seashore Primary School is given to show ________.
A. telephones are important in Australia
B. how future schools will work
C. every student needs a learning plan
D. students enjoy getting in touch with teachers
30. What does the underlined word “emphasis” in the last paragraph mean?
A. lesson B. score C. attitude D. focus
31. Which of the following is the best title of the text?
A. The Schools in the Future
B. Great Changes in Technology
C. The Seashore Primary School
D. Actual Schools to Be Replaced

July 20th, 2009 was the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11’s historic flight to the moon, where astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first human beings to walk on the moon. 40 years ago, space flight inspired such awe (敬畏) that astronauts were honored as heroes and celebrities. 40 years later none of us, besides space fanatic (狂热者), would likely to be able to name one astronaut in service today.
I got to thinking about the importance of continuing space exploration. I hear many people criticize the importance of NASA and space flight, most saying that it is a waste of time, and more importantly money. I disagree with such assessments. Space exploration is important not only to humanity’s curiosity of the great beyond, but it is also important for the future of the earth and all of us living on it.
The Apollo missions inspired a whole generation of kids who wanted to grow up to be astronauts, rocket scientists, and engineers. We all know that science education has been slightly lacking in the United States as of late. Don’t you think that NASA’s return, to the moon, or more importantly the much-anticipated manned mission to Mars will again inspire a whole new generation to reach for the stars so to speak? I do.
You would think that the guys who burn a million pounds of rocket fuel wouldn’t be the most environmentally minded people in the world. However, most people don't know that NASA does a lot of good environmental research while they are up there looking down at all of us. NASA has done a lot of work in studying air quality, climate change alternative (可供替代的) energy, and near earth objects, which as we all know from the movies can destroy the earth any day now without warning, unless we have a group of oil drillers, a nuke, and Bruce Willis.
We cannot ignore the importance of space exploration, nor be complacent (自满的) in its meaning to all of us. I hope space exploration can continue to inspire, educate, and provide for us in the next 40 years as it has the last 40 years.
32. What can we learn from the text?
A. Armstrong was the first man to fly in space in the world.
B. Science education for American students is highly developed.
C. The author considers space flight as a waste of money and time.
D. People today won’t admire astronauts as much as they did 40 years ago.
33. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Space exploration. B. NASA. C. Money. D. Humanity.
34. How does NASA make a difference to the environment?
A. By burning less rocket fuel. B. By finding greener energy.
C. By changing climate. D. By making space movies.
35. What’s the best title for the text?
A. How to Be an Astronaut. B. Where to Study Flight
C. Why to Explore Space. D. How to Do Space Research.

根据第一段“What will the future school look like is difficult to make clear, but most experts agree that the school will be electronic in the future.” 故选A。
根据第一段“40 years ago, space flight inspired such awe that astronauts were honored as heroes and celebrities. 40 years later none of us, besides space fanatic, would likely to be able to name one astronaut in service today.(40年前,宇航员被人们视为英雄和名人,而40年后的今天,除了一些太空狂热者外,无人能说出现役的宇航员名字。)”
根据第二段“Space exploration is important not only to humanity’s curiosity of the great beyond, but it is also important for the future of the earth and all of us living on it.(太空探索不仅对人类对外太空的好奇心很重要,而且对地球的未来和我们所生活在地球上的所有人也很重要。)” 故选A。
根据第四段“NASA has done a lot of work in studying air quality, climate change, alternative energy, and near earth objects, which as we all know from the movies can destroy the earth any day now without warning, unless we have a group of oil drillers, a nuke, and Bruce Willis.( NASA在研究空气质量、气候变化、替代能源和近地天体方面做了大量工作,正如我们从电影中知道的那样,近地天体可以在没有任何预警的情况下随时摧毁地球,除非我们有一群钻井工人、一枚核武器和布鲁斯·威利斯。)”

The Person I Admire Most
I am very glad to share my topic with you. The person I admire most is Yuan Longping, an agricultural pioneer of China. It’s known that there exists hunger in many countries. To help more people to get enough food, Yuan Longping devoted himself to improving the output of hybrid rice. Thanks to his research, the output of hybrid has been doubled. More importantly, Yuan Longping was willing to share his achievement with others, which contributes to ridding the world of hunger.
As for me, Yuan Longping was the greatest person in the world. It is his devotion that made him successful and his commitment inspired me a lot. Actually, I have some difficulty in learning English. However, where there is devotion, there is a way. I really believe that my devotion can make me expert in English.
I sincerely hope that everyone can learn from the person you admire and thus make great contributions to the whole world.
Thank you for your listening. That's all.
